    Holy crap, Marie!
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

    • Check that. People on Twitter are saying Fox News is saying it's Paul Ryan. Could still be somebody else.

      • If I don't wake up to a push notification from the Romney VP app I'm gonna be pissed!

Because he's announcing at the USS Wisconsin?

I would not be upset with a Ryan pick. I don't think any of the known potential VPs would disappoint me though. Maybe Portman. But really he has lots of solid potential running mates.

Portman was my favorite. But I'm also thrilled with Ryan.

Portman was my least favorite, just because he seemed safe. Also, ties to the Bush presidency might have been a hindrance. But he may have helped in Ohio. Though he would not be a bad choice at all. I don't think there is a bad choice among the frontrunners.

                • Ryan would not surprise me - look at the articles released in consecutive days leading up to the announcement:

On Thursday from the Weekly Standard:
It's the Romney-Ryan Plan; Why Not Romney-Ryan Ticket?
By Stephen F. Hayes and William Kristol

On Friday from the New York Post:
                  Don't Fear Paul Ryan
                  By Rich Lowry

I could definitely see the campaign asking conservative opinion columnists for some positive coverage on Ryan leading up to the announcement. I don't expect that they would bait and switch them.

                      • He'll excite/reassure the base, I guess. And he's a very smart guy, very articulate. If Mitt can manage to make the campaign about fixing the economy, Ryan will be an excellent spokesman. During the vice presidential debate, people will want to avert their eyes as Ryan beclowns Joe Biden.

                          Biden will probably be dumped.

                            Beclowning someone else. Interesting.

                            • I really like the pick. Bright guy who at least is willing to put some ideas out there. The fact the left hates his ideas doesn't bother me.
