  • I just saw a poll where Ryan only has a 19% disapproval rating. In recent history worldwide, Kim Jong Il is the only public official that has enjoyed higher approval ratings.

Unbelievable, this thing is in the bag for Romney.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

And you think I am the one being disingenuous?

Then you fly off the handle all the while maintaining Ryan has no baggage. Based on most all media reports, I think it's safe to say your opinion is part of a very small minority.

Some out there may think he can overcome the baggage or it's worth the risk, but nobody I've seen other than a guy who likes Color Me Badd too much thinks he doesn't have baggage.

The Ayn Rand crowd is going to love this pick. And it will take until November 7 for them to understand why I love it too.
Since you're incapable of cutting through the horseshit and only seem intent on adding to it, it's up to me to tell the truth. Here it is: Paul Ryan only has a 19% disapproval rating and this baggage you're talking about is a joke.

        Me neither.

        Great point!
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

        • I am looking forward to the Biden and Ryan debate. Especially considering Palin held her own against Biden.

I hope Ryan calls him "O'biden" just like Palin did.
            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

With good reason, perhaps. NBC is already touting it as "the first major party ticket without a Protestant Christian." Brian forgot to mention the Medicare proposal.

                    That's a great ad.

I don't think your average voter is going to see Paul Ryan baggage there.

I'm not sure if you'll count ballot results as approval ratings, but Equatorial Guinean president Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo won the last election with 96.7% of the vote. He had predicted he would win with 97.1%; what a loss of face!

                      • I think it just comes down to the fact that Mitt likes Paul Ryan and trusts him and the pick keeps the focus on the economy, which Mitt sees as his key advantage in the race.

It appears to me like he's "preaching to the choir" with this pick.

He should have taken someone that would broaden his appeal.

Defense spending isn't whats driving the country off an economic cliff.
