This weekend I went with my Dad to the gun show in sandy. I had not been to one in about a decade. I have guns and enjoy firearms so when he asked it was an easy yes. Part of me agreeing to go is I have not had the time to catch up on things with him in a while so when we did hang out, our conversations seemed strained. I felt this would be a good time to fix that and it was.

So the gun show was pretty much the same as I remembered except for 2 Items. One is the speed that Obama has become the Anti-Christ and two was the fervor of the end of the world, world at war with America scenario's and how the election of Obama will usher in this era(doesn't make sense to me). Rumors of 500% tax on ammunition, the banning of handguns, any clips that contain more that 5 rounds and semi auto weapons all together were being told all over the floor. There were pictures of Obama grabbing guns from people that state Obama wants your guns. It was pretty funny.

Does anyone here feel this way? Is there any evidence of this happening? I know during the Clinton years guns laws were increased and limits were set on clip capacity (not 5 though). During the election, I heard little of this and didn't read anything about it.

I think I just ran into marketing hell and suspect there is not much to this. I did notice that 7.62mm X .39mm Ammo has gone from $115 for a 1000 rounds to $300. That is the same price as .223.

The right is as passionate about the 2nd amendment as the left is about keeping abortion legal. Their is going to be some carnage in the streets if big change ever happens with either.

Most of my friends with mostly liberal political leanings,,,Gun control is one topic where a lot of them depart from Obama on.

Most of them love to hunt, and most of them have a concealed weapons permit.

Obama has never said anything to make me believe that he will uphold the 2nd Amendment.

I'm concerned, but not paranoid. Given their druthers, libs would re-instate the assault weapons ban, ban large mags, etc. And that's just for starters. Out in California, counties and municipalities were always floating the idea of obscene ammo taxes of 100, 200, 300+ %. But it's not politically viable right now. That doesn't mean they don't want it. So, yes, I'm wary, but it's not time to hit the bunker yet.

Full disclosure: I grew up around guns, I own guns, I like guns - but guns are not a hot button political issue for me.

After the election, I had to talk by BIL off of a ledge. He was terrified that we were all of a sudden entering into a totalitarian state where all of his firearms would disappear. Did he make a comparison to Hitler? Only four or five times, I think.

I told him that if he thinks Obama has the political capital to all of a sudden make gun control a major priority in the middle of this economic shitfest, he's crazier than I thought.

Has he said anything to make you believe he hasn't? This is a serious question, I don't mean to be snarky. Guns just aren't important to me. I'm not all bent out of shape about either keeping them legal or restricting them, so I haven't paid attention to anything Obama has said about gun laws. Is the pro-gun crowd all up in arms because of something he said, or because of what they think he will say?

Fears over gun rights are very well placed and show a keen pulse on the beat of the nation.

I can't think of a single more pressing issue right now than gun control. I would be shocked if Obama didnt introduce radical gun control legislature sometime by late January. This is clearly a huge deal for him, as he sees a unique opportunity to go down in history as the President that repealed the 2nd Amendment and took all guns away.

Of greater concern for me is his likelihood of legalizing white slavery. I just don't trust the guy.
