I read somewhere that Obama's position with the Harvard Law Review was elected. He wasn't editor which is based on your grades and maybe your performance in an editing competition. I don't know if this true. Being an editor on the Harvard Law Review would be quite impressive, but supposedly Obama was elected President of the Law Review and wasnt an editor. Another curious thing is that Obama never clerked for a judge after Law School which is commonly done by law graduates that later become professors in law school. He never published a thing as a professor at Chicago. One of his students who also clerked for that Federal Appeals judge that gave the DoJ a homework assignment, IIRC, said that Obama's curriculum wasn't exactly a traditional rigorous course.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I may be mistaken, but I don't think he's ever published any legal writing, as a student, professor, or lawyer. And you are right, he was elected President of HLR. The position had nothing to do with his abilities as a writer or editor. There's lots of reason to be skeptical about his scholarly achievements and his academic record.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostI read somewhere that Obama's position with the Harvard Law Review was elected. I also just read that he graduated magna cum lauded. So he's either quite smart, or Harvard Law school started grading like Brown, or he's lying. I don't like to ever start with the presumption that someone is lying, so I'm going to assume he's smart enough to graduate Magna cum laude.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostI may be mistaken, but I don't think he's ever published any legal writing, as a student, professor, or lawyer. No.Originally posted by Non Sequitur View PostBut that's kind of what you're doing, right?
I think the reason he doesn't release his records is that it would show a number of wacky classes/professors. Even he did release it, I don't think it would be that big of a deal, kind of like Romney's tax returns. Political pundits make too big of a deal out of this kind of stuff, Obama's association with Bill Ayers had zero effect on the outcome of the last election.Last edited by Color Me Badd Fan; 04-08-2012, 04:43 PM.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Romney faces challenge on Mormonism, with a surprising quote from Cornell West:
Some black leaders, too, bridle at subjecting Romney’s faith to the kind of bloodthirsty investigation that seared Obama’s. Cornel West, a Princeton professor and an early Obama booster who has since criticized the president from the left, dismissed the notion that Romney should have to answer for his church.
"Anti-Mormon prejudice is as evil as anti-black prejudice," West told BuzzFeed. "Let us judge brother Mitt Romney on his record and deeds."

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

This seems misleading. He's not selling access to the inauguration, but a retreat. I really dislike sloppy reporting."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

that doesn't seem misleading, it clearly is misleading. Someone needs to teach the reporter how to read. The adjective "inaugural" does not solely refer to the inauguration of the President, it can also mean first, or beginning, or initial.Originally posted by wuapinmon View Posthttp://www.buzzfeed.com/bensmith/rom...ne-months-earl

What's even more disturbing about this lack of integrity is that the word "inauguration" was no where to be found in the text the Romney campaign sent out. I can see how a simpleton would confuse "Presidential Inaugural Retreat" with an event that would happen at the Presidential Inauguration (the way the email uses it in combination with "first" is unfortunately redundant) but there is nothing that says this retreat will happen in January 2013, only that there will be a presidential retreat at some point in the future. The California retreat that they assume will also be the "Inauguration" retreat will happen at the end of June, not January! Illiterate idiots.Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

At least Rmoney has MSNBC's Martin Bashi reading the BoM...
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/vid...damnation.htmlOn his MSNBC program this afternoon Martin Bashir not only accused presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney of lying, but dragged Mormonism into the fray.
"It doesn't matter how many times he hears the truth, Mitt Romney prefers to tell lies," Bashir said after castigating Mitt Romney as a liar three times.
"Which brings us to the moral codes of Mormonism that Mr. Romney claims to live by. In Section 63, in verse 17 of the Doctrine and Covenants of the Mormon Church we find this: 'All liars, and whosoever loveth and and maketh a lie, and the whoremonger, and the sorcerer, shall have their part in that lake which burneth with fire and brimstone which is the second death.'
"And from the Book of Mormon to Nephi, Chapter 2, Verse 34 we find this: 'Wo unto the liar, for he shall be thrust down to hell.'"If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.
"I honestly believe saying someone is a smart lawyer is damning with faint praise. The smartest people become engineers and scientists." -SU.
"Yet I still see wisdom in that which Uncle Ted posts." -creek.

Romney will speak at Liberty University; but this of course raises the hackles of some:

WTH? They won't even hire Mormons! Why in the world should he speak there? Plus, as a presidential candidate who wants to appeal to the middle, he should avoid close associations with the religious right. I don't give a rat's ass about the base, the base won't win this thing for him. Bad move by the Romney campaign. Better to find a state school or some other private, unaffiliated institution.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostRomney will speak at Liberty University; but this of course raises the hackles of some:
