  • The latest Insider Advantage poll has Mitt up 11 in South Carolina with 32%, a significant increase over the Insider Advantage poll only 4 days ago when they had Mitt up only 2 with 23% of the respondents.

South Carolina Republican Presidential Primary Poll – 01.15.12
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Huntsman dropping out provided quite a bump.

And with Huntsman bringing in 6%, you have to think that a disproportionate share of those votes will now go to Romney.

You're only saying that because he hasn't technically announced the end of his campaign yet.

Huh? I'm saying that because huntsman had not dropped out before the poll was taken. Whatever bump Romney might experience as a result of Huntsman dropping out wouldn't be reflected in this poll.

I wonder how many of those will migrate to Romney. I would be hopeful he would pick up most of them, but Paul may attract some as well.

I guess my previous posts were not sufficiently facetious.

Paul could pick up all of them and he'd still come in third in this poll.

                        • I don't know how anyone doesn't recognize the msm's bias in favor of Obama and the dems.

They talk about Romney and his winning because of money and organization. Sometimes in a negative way, but i haven't heard them talk of it as a positive.

When Obama was running, they praised his ability to raise money and his organization. When people said he had no credentials as a leader, they would point to the fund raising and organization.

Did anyone see Harry Reid on Meet the Press? He was awful. Gregory would ask a question and he would mumble around. Gregory never followed up on the question or pressed him. Gregory has followed up and pressed other dems, but maybe he thought Reid was so bad that if he did follow up Reid would fold.

People have started to learn some disturbing facts about likely Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney: He once worked for Bain Capital — which is what’s known as a private-sector business. Harmless as the term sounds, it’s much scarier once you understand how such outfits operate.

A private-sector business doesn’t even pretend to make decisions based on how to best help people or what creates the most jobs or even on what will most equally distribute income. It makes decisions based only on what creates a profit.

Yes, it’s frightening to think that something so mercenary even exists — even worse that someone who worked for something like that could actually become president. Of course, the only people who should lead our country and manage our economy are those who remain unsullied by the private sector’s for-profit mentality: career politicians.

                            • Romney and his church donations.

Underscoring the prominent, if little discussed role that Mitt Romney played as a Mormon leader, the private equity giant once run by the GOP presidential frontrunner carved his church a slice of several of its most lucrative business deals, securities records show, providing it with millions of dollars worth of stock in some of Bain Capital's most well-known holdings.

Romney has always been a major donor to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which requires that members "tithe," or give 10 percent of their income to the church. His family charity, called the Tyler Foundation, has given more than $4 million to the church in the past five years, including $1.8 million in 2008 and $600,000 in 2009. But because Romney, whose fortune has been estimated at $250 million, has never released his personal tax returns, the full extent of his giving has never been public.
