Yeah, seriously that was dumb. Obama's plan is to bail out companies that refuse to or can't innovate to keep them in business.

True. Unless he's pointing out that Detroit is the result of Democrats in charge.

Seemingly riding the positive vibes off last night’s strong debate performance, Mitt Romney returned to Michigan energized, connecting with voters here on an atypically emotional level.

Much of his speech to Tea Party groups here Thursday night was standard stump, but he related two stories about his father and boyhood in Michigan, and another about the Olympics, hosted in the wake of 9/11, that had audience members nodding approvingly– even wiping away tears.

This is the thing that is dumb to me about so many of these arguments. Not only did Detroit go bankrupt under Obama but the AFC lost three out of four Super Bowls, solar flares increased and both Michael AND Whitney died. WTF Obama? WTF?

Don't forget the Big 12 fiasco. Not sure I could ever forgive him for that.

If I were a BYU fan I might just be a single issue voter based on that.

Hmmm, that seems really benign. So he owns a couple high prices cars....so what? Everyone already knows he owns a couple houses as well. I'm not seeing this one as a big issue.

Maybe you agree since you wrote boom instead of BOOM!

I agree with you. Not an issue at all, but just a very Mitt Romney thing to say.

When Mitt and Obama finally debate each other it is going to be a Nixon/Kennedy moment. When you listen to them side by side the difference in presentation will be stark. Not that people should vote based on that (just that anyway) but they do. Trees? Streets? Now to November is going to be epicly fun.

I don't think this is correct. Romney is nowhere near as bad as Nixon and will be well-prepared for the debates. Romney looks as presidential as anyone can apart from the president himself. Moreover, I think you are assuming Obama is as good in the debates as he is in presenting from a teleprompter. This is not the case and, IMO, he is as likely to say stupid things (and maybe even more so) than Romney. In fact, I think the experience of the 20 (or was it 6500?) debates in the Repub primary will help Romney considerably. Now, if the candidate is Santorum then you are right, but not because of Obama's expertise but because Santorum is a CLOWN.
                            PLesa excuse the tpyos.

So do you expect the debates to help or hurt Romney's poll numbers?

It will depend on how he does, but it will not turn iunto Nixon/Kennedy. The general election will be all about the center. If Romney can goad Obama in to sounding too liberal it could help Romney a lot. Conversely, it could hurt Romney. But it will not the equivalent of a sweaty Nixon wilting under the lights.
