Oh I don't mean in the sense that Romney totally falls apart, I mean in the sense that people will notice a big difference.Originally posted by creekster View PostIt will depend on how he does, but it will not turn iunto Nixon/Kennedy. The general election will be all about the center. If Romney can goad Obama in to sounding too liberal it could help Romney a lot. Conversely, it could hurt Romney. But it will not the equivalent of a sweaty Nixon wilting under the lights.

Hmmm. well your example is noted most often for the superficial cosmetic differences between Nixon and Kennedy. Thus my confusion. As I said, I think Romney will do fine and I think it remains to be seen if the difference that is observed inures to Romenys benefit or detriment.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostOh I don't mean in the sense that Romney totally falls apart, I mean in the sense that people will notice a big difference.PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Height? Presence?Originally posted by UtahDan View PostOh I don't mean in the sense that Romney totally falls apart, I mean in the sense that people will notice a big difference.
Romney wins both of these.
Of course, Nixon probably did too...At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I think you are overplaying Obama here. He is very marginal when he is off script. He stutters quite a bit and "hums and has" a lot. The key is to get him off script, which is something that Romney actually does well in debates.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostOh I don't mean in the sense that Romney totally falls apart, I mean in the sense that people will notice a big difference."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. Nope. I'm just guessing at physical presence.Originally posted by creekster View PostHave you ever seen that debate? Nixon looks awful. Like a criminal. Neither Romney nor Obama will come across that way.
I'm guessing that Obama's will want as big a distance as possible between the podia. At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I agree. Obama will look really bad compared to Mitt. "Epicly" bad.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostWhen Mitt and Obama finally debate each other it is going to be a Nixon/Kennedy moment. When you listen to them side by side the difference in presentation will be stark. Not that people should vote based on that (just that anyway) but they do. Trees? Streets? Now to November is going to be epicly fun.

Google says 6'2, compared to a surprising 6'1 from Barack. That makes Mitt shorter than he seemed to me and Obama taller. Not sure why that is.Originally posted by nikuman View PostHow tall is Romney?

I would have guessed 6'2 or 6'3 for Romney and 6'0 for Obama. When you look at most actors' heights, 6'2 is really tall. Clint Eastwood and Ronald Reagan were both tall actors. Most of those guys are midgets, probably because a lot of guys (not all of course) over 6 feet are sometimes not as well proportioned or too skinny at a young age as guys that are average height or even a little shorter.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostGoogle says 6'2, compared to a surprising 6'1 from Barack. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
