    Make that TWO newspapers.

What is very interesting to me is that the force of Trump's personality overcame Presidential hubris, and how quickly they caved. They genuinely believe they had to close a credibility gap.

The birthers won't back off. That document, the original one, or the newspaper birth announcement(s) will never make him white or anglecize his name.

Hilarious. You can't make this stuff up. This one is great:

            • In the “This Birth” box there are two mysterious Xs above “Twin” and “Triplet.” Is there a sibling or two unaccounted for?
            Obama has an evil twin!

This is my favorite: "David A. Sinclair, the M.D. who purportedly signed the document, died nearly eight years ago at age 81. So he is conveniently unavailable to answer questions about Obama’s reported birth."

I can't believe he is dead. Because if he is still alive, I can just imagine the conversation: 'Do you remember signing the document for this baby fifty years ago?' Sinclair: 'Oh, I don't remember that. I do remember the other 37,460 birthing certificates that I signed, but I don't remember that one. Someone probably forged my name.'

I mentioned that point on CB long ago, and the quick response was that putting an announcement in a Hawaii paper could be done by anyone, from anywhere. Never mind that the newspaper announcements at that time came from data produced by the Department of Health and the hospitals, not the parents or other individuals.

And what would have been the motives of parents seeking to publish such an announcement? Do people think anyone in 1961 could/would have planned to elect an African American president? I remember from personal experience such a notion would be been absurd. The future president would still have had to use separate, schools, bathrooms and drinking fountains in many states.

Trump's focus on Obama's minutiae is funny, since he'd abhor a similar focus on his (the Donald's) tax returns and other previously confidential data from his checkered past. I've always assumed that's why Trump will ultimately never declare as a candidate, but is still milking this for all its worth. As horrible a prospective candidate as he his, Trump is one of the premier self-promoters of our age.

This piece of evidence is among the most baffling to me when it comes to birthers. It's really amazing that the Obama's knew their Kenya born child was destined for the presidency and that they'd need to make sure they got the birth announced in the Honolulu newspapers (it was in both of the main papers) to make it look legit.

OK, the die hard birthers are wacky on this. I don't know if it makes them complete wacko's, but certainly wacky on this.

Now what will be interesting to watch is CNBC, CNN and maybe the other news outlets. Let's see how they treat it. Let's see if they treat the President as if he just did something truly marvelous we should be commending him on. If they do, they also should be considered "wacky" on this.

Finally, the “Signature of Local Registrar” in box 21 may be a desperate attempt at establishing the document’s Hawaiian authenticity. Note to forgers: It is spelled “Ukulele.”

You people's naivete astounds me. Have you forgotten The International Communist Conspiracy? They probably planted thousands of these little Obamabombs back in the sixties. Fake birth certificates, newspaper announcements the whole nine yards. I imagine they had hundreds of reds in moscow, along with commie moles in the various governmental health organizations, working on this. Sure most would end up as duds, convenience store clerks or whatever, but all they need is for one to hit. And hit it did.
Where have you gone, Joe McCarthy? Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you.
