Maybe because voting for an unopposed Obama in the primary is boring. Why not go over to the other room and shake things up a little? That's what I'd do.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I was partly expecting to see a "Ron Paul 2012" message at the end.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostIf these people are happy with Obama then why are they voting in the republican primary? Paul has a dedicated group of voters. Until the republican realizes this and brings his ideas (back) into the party platform they will never get their vote.
Huntsman is a democrat (RINO) and, as ox pointed out, would only make a good running mate for Obama.

Actually Ron Paul was the top democratic party write-in in their primary beating even Hillary Clinton...Originally posted by myboynoah View PostMaybe because voting for an unopposed Obama in the primary is boring. Why not go over to the other room and shake things up a little? That's what I'd do.
Of course, Democrats have a good reasons to vote for Paul.Ron Paul topped the list of write-ins in New Hampshire’s Democratic primary, according to final results posted by New Hampshire’s secretary of state.
The Republican congressman from Texas led all write-ins in the Democratic primary with 2,273, followed by former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney at 1,808 and and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman at 1,228

Newt probably has to big of an ego for dropping out and backing Santorum. His Bain attack isn't working. I don't know what he has left. He is so angry at Mitt, that he might just do that and save some face with the party.

Glad I hopped on the train...

Huntsman, Perry, Gingrich, and Santorum will not be on the Virginia ballot.

Newt not even on the ballot in his own home state. I find this humorous.τὸν ἥλιον ἀνατέλλοντα πλείονες ἢ δυόμενον προσκυνοῦσιν

GOP candidate cribs.
It looks like the picture of Ron Paul's home was taken from google street view. You can own this house of our next president for only $325,000.

BRENHAM, Tex. — Evangelical leaders pursued a last-ditch effort on Saturday to exert influence in the Republican presidential primary race, voting to support the candidacy of Rick Santorum in hopes of undercutting Mitt Romney’s march to the nomination.
A week before the South Carolina primary, a group of more than 100 influential Christian conservatives gathered at a ranch here and voted overwhelmingly to rally behind Mr. Santorum. An organizer described the vote as an “unexpected supermajority,” a decision that was intended to help winnow the Republican field and consolidate the opposition to Mr. Romney."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. Their vote had nothing to with religion. It was because Mitt's not conservative enough.Originally posted by Moliere View Post

If Romney wins S. Carolina, I am curious to see the response from other Republican candidates and the Republican Party.
If he wins big, the game really is pretty much over. The other candidates should and probably will start to fall in line behind him.
Here is what I hope we do not here, "Look, we might have some differences, but in the end, our goal is to defeat Obama. He now has 100% of my support."
The general public....even Republicans... want to hear more than that.
I hope the comments from the candidates will be focused NOT on the shared goal of defeating Obama. That is a given, IMO, and sounds very petty. I would hope the comments will be geared towards an agenda, goals and ideology.
The big picture is not defeating Obama. The long term goal is to turn around the economy, shrink government, lower debt, get spending in control, etc.
Defeating Obama is a means to an end. It's not the end goal. It's not a manta that will inspire moderates or moderate/conservative Dems to vote Republican.
I bring this up because I was just listening to Lindsay Graham on Meet the Press. He pretty much used the hollow and shallow, "We need to defeat Obama" approach. (Granted, it's early and Romney has not won S. Carolina yet.)

Let's see... Iowa and NH have 11 electoral college votes. IF Romney wins S. Carolina (Paul has been coming up fast in the polls) that will add another 8... so if my math is right that is 19.Originally posted by Portland Ute View PostIf Romney wins S. Well, Texas has 32 electoral college votes and guess who got the highest percentage in the latest poll:
Paul will most likely take California too given all those disgruntled Obama democrats (like Cat Woman, for example) are jumping parties like rats from a sinking ship to vote for someone that will actually get us out of Iraq.Ron Paul 27.9%
Newt Gingrich 23.8%
Rick Santorum 21.2%
Rick Perry 19.4%
[Wait... WTF?!? Where the heck is Romney? Oh, there he is... down there with Huntsman.]
Mitt Romney 6.6%
Jon Huntsman 1.1%Last edited by Uncle Ted; 01-15-2012, 10:18 AM."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

are you really trying to say the election wont be over if mitt wins sc? It will be, regardless of if Romney is losing in a state that wont have its election for a month. Its over... Admit it.
