If you need some comic relief try to catch Crissy Mathews analyzing this thing especially if he is discussing Romney.

He says Newt has totally opened up this thing for the Dems. He has unmasked this, whatever he called it, that is Bain. He said it is like Willie Horton was for Dukakis.

Sad thing is years and years ago Mathews was coherant.

Romney now up to 40%, extending his lead over Paul by 17%. I expect Wolf and CNN will note this soon.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I used to watch The McLaughlin Group years ago on PBS religiously. Chris Matthews was a regular and he seemed fairly sensible.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Ron Paul's National Campaign Chairman's message to all the candidates except Mitt Romney: Drop out because it is a two man race

“The race is becoming more clearly a two-man race between establishment candidate Mitt Romney and Ron Paul, the candidate of authentic change. That means there is only one true conservative choice.

                          [...]

“We urge Ron Paul’s opponents who have been unsuccessfully trying to be the conservative alternative to Mitt Romney to unite by getting out of the race and uniting behind Paul’s candidacy.

“Ron Paul has the boldest plan to cut spending, a dedication to protecting life, and a lifelong dedication to the Constitution and limited government. He also has the necessary support to campaign nationwide against Mitt Romney.

That's the only way Paul survives. But thus far everyone seems to be heading to SC. Ron's staff knows this spells trouble for their "dangerous" candidate. With McCain stumping for Mitt there I suspect Mitt to pick up most of his votes from 2008 and dominate the coast while the others split Huck's evangelicals which is the last thing Paul needs. I suspect NH may have been the high watermark for him. If Romney goes on to win the SC and then Florida primaries he needs to give it up like his campaign chairman suggests of the others. But I have a feeling he's going to continue to lecture us all on the constitution and liberty for awhile.

I actually like a lot of Ron Paul's ideas. But he's not presidential or electable. I don't care what polls say right now in a general. He would get rolled by Obama. Romney may too. But I think he has much more appeal than Paul does and a better chance to dethrone Obama.

Like I said he's not electable and personal qualities (whatever that is) matter. I don't think that's a bad thing especially when Romney polls only 2% behind Paul on the issues (pretty insignificant and probably within the sampling error margin) in your graphic but destroys him in the other.
