meh...I couldn't give a rat's ass about what McBride did with a program I don't like. The fact is, he could recruit with the best of them, but was an average coach and a good guy. Unless, there is something I'm missing about Boylen, he's a good guy and an average coach - but couldn't recruit. That is a recipe for failure - which is why he failed, but I'll stand by my comparison for the reasons I compared them. McBride succeeded to a point at Utah because of his recruiting. That's the biggest difference between the two, IMO.I'm like LeBron James.

Worse than Archibald?Originally posted by mpfunk View PostCalling Boylen the Ron McBride of Ute basketball is a complete insult to Ron McBride and is completely inaccurate. Ron McBride actually took a awful Ute program and built it up. He was the 3rd best coach in the history of Ute football. Boylen destroyed the Ute program. He is the worst coach in modern Ute basketball. McBride was a better recruiter, better coach, and a better person.
I may be small, but I'm slow.

I think the media took the Nazi thing and sensationalized it, (at the time he was in the news for all his affairs on Sandra Bullock).Originally posted by YOhio View PostI gotta part with you on this one DD. I think the Nazi fascination of his puts him over the edge. Nothing cool about that.
Nazi symbolism has been around the biker culture since the very beginning of the outlaw lifestyle. It doesn't necessarily represent Nazi views... more, it represents rebellion, non-conformity, counter culture, the be your own man lifestyle.
There are some Nazi's and skin heads that ride motorcycles together... but Jesse isn't one of them. He grew up in Long Beach and his bikes represent that unique culture, very heavily influenced by the Hispanic culture and blue collar lifestyle.
At the peak success of West Coast Choppers, high end celebrities wanted custom bikes faster than they could be turned out. Jesse had a strict policy of wait your turn. He didn't bump anybody up because of their star status. There were several instances where A-list white movie stars got mad at him and took their business elsewhere for not bumping lower end celebrities (many were minorities) out of line. He told the A-listers to GTFO... literally to their face.
His attitudes about race are best illustrated by his actions over years... Not a few pictures of himself he let be taken, posing in some Nazi hat that got loose when the public already hated him for acting like an outlaw biker - millionaire, that cheated on the mom from Blind Side.

Boylen isn't an average coach, he is terrible. Any comparison of Boylen to Mac makes me sick. Mac was a much better recuiter, as you point out, but he was also a much better coach. Mac didn't take a bad program and make it worse.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostMajerus is the d-bag...some of the stories I've heard about how he treated his players at the u were sickening and inexcusable, IMO (none of them public, btw - all from former ute players in confidence).
Boylen can't coach to save his life and might be a little crazy, but he seems like a genuinely good guy. The Ron McBride of ute basketball - although McBride was a better recruiter.

Not only will I claim that douchebag is NOT sexist, I will pull a reverse on you and make the argument that, taking feminine 'hygiene' products off the table of potential insults out of fear that they might be perceived as sexist is just another way of putting women on a pedestal. Sexist!Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostRobin, how can you possibly claim that douchebag isn't sexist?
As to the rest of your entries, I'm sorry folks, I don't know enough about any of the coaches to guess.
I don't know squat about Dr. Phil, but "Dr." Laura is definitely a douche bag, so Phil must be the Don.
