Another reason why I don't understand finance. I would have thought that since the conventional wisdom is that SpaceX is overvalued, any fund that relies too heavily on it will lose value once the stock price drops.Originally posted by Moliere View Post

As JL suggested, it's FOMO that's driving this, not business fundamentals. It reminds me that in late 1999 and early 2000, tech stocks were very heavily overvalued, especially Cisco that had an absurdly P/E ratio such that, to meet its implied target, it would have had to sell a router to every household on the planet, essentially. I asked an investment banker why the fundamentals I learned in business school seemed no longer to apply, and he kept talking about "the new economy" and how such old-fashioned analytics no longer applied. Turns out, he was wrong and the dot.com bubble popped.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View Post

Exactly correct. There’s a market for AI but right now it’s a fever dream and people have FOMO. I don’t have an issue profiting off of others FOMOOriginally posted by PaloAltoCougar View Post

SpaceX is already up over $225 a share today. I don’t think the ETFs have even started buying shares since it gets added to the Nasdaq 100 in early July. It’ll get added to the S&P500 at some point, so a lot of additional demand to come for the stock. This thing may go past the moon and hit mars before crashing out."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. I think you’re probably right, including the crash out part eventually.Originally posted by Moliere View PostSpaceX is already up over $225 a share today. 95% of the SpaceX stock is locked up. Let's check back when people can actually sell."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I am officially a SpaceX owner. Bought in at $119 this morning. Up to $125 after the earnings report today. Hopefully I got the bottom of the dip.
