Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Yeah, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's not true."Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."

That seems both cool and sensible since you have no basis for questioning it... hey why don't you tell me something emotional and personal and true and I'll just tell you your lying, cool?Originally posted by Axl RoseWhen he heard that the LDS Church had lifted the ban on Black males holding the priesthood, he pulled his car over and wept....
Yeah, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's not true.
His story is credible for many reasons - any active LDS growing up when and where he did and going to school where he did wld have been painfully aware of how wrong the policy was policy was and for Romney it wld have been esp acute given his Dads vocal public support for the civil rights movement. His story is entirely credible.Ute-ī sunt fīmī differtī

Trust me - this is a way to get Utahns on board with Huntsman instead of Romney, and it might be a pathetic attempt, but I see exactly where it's coming from: Utahns trust the Father-Son political role.
Huntsman has made me so sad with his lame ass PR, mostly because he's got the appeal of a Rudy Giuliani (sans marital infidelity).what I am is what I am and I does what I does.

Credible, maybe... but his wishy-washy stance on something that in my mind is a no brainer only reminds people that he's got strong "liberal" roots but doesn't want to lose his LDS fanbase.Originally posted by oxcoug View PostThat seems both cool and sensible since you have no basis for questioning it... hey why don't you tell me something emotional and personal and true and I'll just tell you your lying, cool?

I'm not seeing it. Not at all. They're both moderate R's, but Rudy's appeal has never really been about his policy prescriptions. It's about the tough guy New Yorker who exudes leadership. Huntsmans appeal is in his soft-toned, common sense approach that is intended to facilitate compromise.Originally posted by HottieCoug View Post

I should have clarified - Huntsman and Rudy are the electable Republicans, the guys that Democrats wouldn't hate to have in office. Yes, they represent different personas in demeanor, but they have little desire to be divisive politickers and instead proved to do what was best for the area over which they had governing power.Originally posted by YOhio View PostI'm not seeing it. Didn't someone on this board claim to have wept as well? I've heard that from several folks...that they started crying. I also find it hard to believe but taken at its face, What a horribly unpopular "doctrine" that was for its repudiation to cause so much shamed weeping, relief, and gladness.Originally posted by oxcoug View PostThat seems both cool and sensible since you have no basis for questioning it... hey why don't you tell me something emotional and personal and true and I'll just tell you your lying, cool?

His unwillingness to take a hard line and denounce the discriminatory practices employed until the late 70s as wrong. Christians did horrible things to Muslims in the middle ages; this doesn't mean that Christianity is wrong, but rather that the situation and the way it was handled was wrong.Originally posted by oxcoug View PostWhat specifically are you referring to here?what I am is what I am and I does what I does.

I'd have liked to have heard those words - "yes, it was wrong" - as well. But I don't fault him for not expressing it that way. He made it clear that in his own view not only was it wrong, but wrong in ways that impacted him on an emotional level. Yes, the words matter but he didn't try to defend the Church on it.Originally posted by HottieCoug View PostHis unwillingness to take a hard line and denounce the discriminatory practices employed until the late 70s as wrong.
Well sure it doesn't - since what this really means is that Europeans (who happened to be Christians) did horrible things to Muslims in the Middle Ages, usually under cover of religion but without any substantive basis for it even in their own religious texts. BTW - Muslims also did horrible things to Christians in the Middle Ages - with more basis in their religious texts.Originally posted by HottieCoug View PostChristians did horrible things to Muslims in the middle ages; this doesn't mean that Christianity is wrong, but rather that the situation and the way it was handled was wrong.
But now I'm forgetting why we're discussing the religious conflicts of the Middle Ages

Jon Stewart Twitter pranks Huntsman. Totally hilarious.
The "Daily Show" host urged the AMC drama's Twitter fans to send questions to Jon Hamm at #Q4Jon shortly before presidential candidate Huntsman opened a "Town Hall" Q&A session with the same hashtag.
But props must be given to Huntsman for taking it stride.Ute-ī sunt fīmī differtī
