    Yikes.
"The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."

"They talk about the economy this year. Hey, my hairline is in recession, my waistline is in inflation. Altogether, I'm in a depression."

"I like to bike. I could beat Lance Armstrong, only because he couldn't pass me if he was behind me."

It's a good thing the world has successfully stopped their ability to produce nuclear weapons.

Someone should have stopped the U.S.

Yeah. You're right. It would have been better if a quarter million GIs died invading the Japanese mainland. And 1-2 million Japanese. The bomb's done WAY more harm than something as benign and beneficial as Marxism. Just ask our President. Marx was a big hero of his back in his college days - of course he'd never admit that now.

Revisionist history is often simply asinine...

Wow, I'm impressed. That leap from "general foreign policy discussion" to "Obama is a Marxist!" was as quick as many on the left used to go from "general political discussion" to "Bush is a racist war criminal!". It always comforts me to find that there is little difference between each side.

Difference is, Obama WAS a Marxist in college. 100% indisputable fact. And his career choice as a 'community organizer' is pretty congruent with 'applied Marxism,' focused on the writings of Saul Alinski. Not one that he's too happy to talk about now, of course, but that's absolutely where he's coming from...

Yet still completely irrelevant to the discussion at hand.

Huh? I'm just making the point that we aren't any more trustworthy than anyone else. The U.S. is the only country the world can be absolutely certain is willing to use nukes. Don't take that the wrong way. I would rather nuke Iran than lose brothers and friends in a land war, but I'll never be convinced nuking civilians is noble.

He was elected to his office. It must not matter to the majority.

So, the Obama is a Marxist conversation, while important, doesn't address the issue of Pyongyang's bravado. If another war starts up between these two then that could put the USA into a third ongoing war. That would be bad.

agreed - if there S Korea decide to retaliate, we couldn't help but get sucked in.

I say we stay out of it and let them duke it out.

Given that S Korea has something like 20 times the GDP of N Korea it seems the USA just needs to step out of the way. Of course, China may want to get involved for some reason.

I was watching the NBC nightly news and they had someone with a very official sounding title on. He said that the US was staying out of it for now, and putting pressure on the Chinese to intercede. He also said that if a war broke out that North Korea would cease to exist at the end of the day, but that maybe one million South Koreans would lose their lives and the nice economy they have built would be devastated. His opinion seemed to be that only the South Koreans can decide whether they want to pay that price, but that they have certainly been provoked sufficiently with this being the second attack. Interesting.
