Good luck wuap. Thankfully I don't think much of SC is below sea level. I also find it interesting that I have yet to experience any kind of hurricane or tropical storm in Houston since I've lived here. I moved in the year after Katrina and was on a two week vacation when Ike hit. Since then...nothing.

My backyard is flooded, but the water is going down. It stopped raining heavily for about four hours, but it's started up again. I think we're going to be alright though."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

No, but my friends in Darlington have a 140 y/o home, and its basement has four feet of water.Originally posted by Mormon Red Death View PostDo you have a basement?"Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. Not much yet. The expect some to get worse near the coast as all that water makes its way downstream. There was a creek in Columbia that had a flood stage of 8 feet; before the gauge was swept away, it registered 17.8'. They're estimating that statewide, we saw 4.4 trillion gallons of rainfall over the weekend--that's like each and every single person in the state dumping 910,596 gallons of water on the ground where they are. But, here in Hartsville, the damage was minimal. Look at that list, though. Darlington is 10 miles east from here, Florence is 20 miles east, and Bennettsville is 20 miles north. We got really really lucky. That chart only shows communities in that TV stations market. We're in the Florence/Myrtle Beach market. The Columbia stations is probably worse. 70 miles of I-95 remain closed still pending the ability to make structural checks on overtopped bridges. Caskets are popping out of their graves. I've said nary a word about my previous experiences with flooding because this too is a big deal.Originally posted by pellegrino View PostAre the floods subsiding?Last edited by wuapinmon; 10-07-2015, 09:17 AM."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. Good hell. I've got the AC on because the humidity in my house was near 95% INSIDE. Is it August out there? Also, the forecast for Christmas Day is now 78F/64F.
