Maybe you didn't know this, but no one gives a damn about Utah politics outside of Utah.

I think it's safe to assume that byu71 has voted Republican in every Presidential election since Lincoln.

I was a couple of months from being 18 when Clinton first ran but I would definitely have voted for him at that time. Then I went to the west and became a conservative and have voted Republican every time since. Obama tempted me and I would have been tempted in 04 but for the candidate. I have voted democrat in state elections on many occasions.

Seems like a reasonable assumption. Actually, I was very pro Kennedy (John) and Lyndon Johnson. When I came home off of my mission I was decidely a republican much to the dismay of my Dad. I didn't convert him to my side until Reagan ran in 1980.

Since I couldn't vote when I was a democrat, it is true, I have never voted for anyone who didn't have a R behind their name.

I voted for Matheson in '06 because he seems more concerned about his constituents than his career, but I've been kicking myself ever since knowing that my vote helped to put Pelosi in power. I will never make the mistake of voting for a Democrat again.

I voted for a Republican once and I have regretted it ever since. I felt so dirty. If a republican runs unopposed I will write someone in, usually family members or celebrities. If there is a libertarian I will vote for them or the green party.

I wonder how much we've changed since this poll.

My lack of voting in 96 and 08 is because I couldn't in good conscience back anyone.
