Again, GDP (or income, if you prefer) does not equate to well-being. The link you provided does not address inequality and the fact that Americans spend almost double their advantage in net/gross disposable income on health care, and actually only accounts for a small number of very wealthy households propping up the index which means the numbers at OECD better life are cooked.

America is better than Canada and it’s not even close. Canadian winters suck. Your capital is Ottawa. Your police ride horses. You eat ketchup chips. You rely on the US for pretty much all your defense. You have Saskatchewan. Curling is your best sport. Don’t you also still have a king?"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

US households have the highest (or second highest) per household discretionary disposable income. Yes, our healthcare costs are higher than average but that is more than offset by our low tax burden.Originally posted by tooblue View Post

Super cool Canada celebrates our Independence Day. What do they do for theirs??Originally posted by tooblue View Post#canadapoor
Imagine a rural municipality being so poor it can only afford a 20 minute fireworks display and not a 25 minute one. Sad.

Meanwhile, the europoors in germany have to get a real doctor note to take a sick day.
Seems completely unworkable.

Well. I guess we just need to institute self-suicide program and rationing of healthcare to find ourselves with such wonderful care as Canada.Originally posted by tooblue View Post

Bo Jr.'s MIL would probably agree with all the Canada hate. They all went on an Alaska cruise last week and they spent time in Canada. All the speed limit signs were in kilometers!
Canada is simply too foreign for her. She may never travel out of the US again, which is probably best, considering the state the rest of the world is in compared to the US.
