Definitely hard to say the peacekeeper sidnt fesr the rifle dude going to do what he thought
In Utah there must be a reasonable belief that such force is necessary. The prosecutor would have to prove otherwise. What is a jury going to believe?

I don't think Gamboa was going to do anything or was a threat, but I understand him being perceived as that.
Something this could happen again at a rally of any policies stripe.
I don't think restricting open carry at public events like this should be perceived as taking away second amendment rights.

It seems common-sensicle. I've heard that the organizers of this event did a hasty and shitty job with this on multiple levels.

The so called peacekeeper was just charged with manslaughter.

I don’t love everything about Sim Gill but he seems to get the big cases right. Since he’s been in office I don’t recall thinking he got the charges wrong in a use of force case. His office is slower than cold tar in reviewing stuff but they seem to get it right.
