  • Ezra Klein's podcast, What's Wrong with Donald Trump?, is very good and deeply disturbing. I wish everyone would listen to it, but those who get their information primarily through tweets will lack the stamina and intellect to do so. The gist: Trump's issues are not due to age, although his advancing years are leading to greater disinhibition, which especially in Trump's case is not a good thing. Trump's reluctant supporters can point to his first term and say, with some justification, that he did some good things and nothing too damaging. However, it overlooks countless examples of how Trump's more seasoned (and rational) advisers were crucial guardrails, and Trump clearly intends to get rid of the guardrails this time around. Per Trump Jr.: "We want people who are going to follow the President... not act as unelected officials who think they know better--they don't know better." The number one criterion for hiring will be loyalty to Donald Trump, not to the Constitution. Trump will hire a team of sycophants, not rivals. Heaven help us.

That is a shame. I was really hoping for Mike Lee. Not that I think Mike Lee would be good. He will be absolutely effing terrible, but any choice Trump picks will do whatever he wants without fail. If they don't, they will be out. If it was Mike Lee, he would no longer be a Utah Senator and it would 100% expose who he is as a person.

I can't find this quote... where's the video of him saying this? Not second-hand hearsay from like a very disgruntled John Kelly, which has been debunked multiple times by other witnesses. (Why is Harris bringing this up now when it has been around over five years? Last minute desperation?)

I wish the Dems would hold off on the "Trump is Hitler!", "he is a threat to democracy!", etc. political rhetoric for a few more weeks so the crazy liberals don't try shooting him again until after he is elected, however. One way or another I would like to see JD Vance as our 48th president.

I can find lots of sources backing on these claims about Kamala Harris, however:

            - Kamala Harris's office, specifically while she was vice president experienced high turnover rates.

            - Over 90% of Kamala Harris's office left in under 3 years.

            - The high turnover rate was attributed to toxic office culture.

            - She also demanded that her entire staff should stand at attention in the morning and greet her saying "Good Morning, General."

            - Officials report Kamala refuses to take responsibility for negative results and oftentimes blames lower staffers.

            - Politico reported directly from a staffer that it was an "abusive" environment.

            - Some reports detail that staffers worked in fear that Kamala Harris would target them.

            - Staffers claim this prohibited them from accomplishing their job and they could not escape fear of Kamala's retribution.

            - Staffers have claimed that Harris does not prepare for events well.

            - When events were unprepared for and poorly executed staffers say Kamala would shift the blame to staffers.

            - After accusations like these came to light, Harris's staff blamed the problem on racism.

            - Politico reports that strong leadership, particularly from a Black woman, is often unfairly labeled as being “intimidating” or “toxic”.

Thank you, thank you Ted for more typing and less tweet posting!

But LOL on what you posted. Why are you so infatuated with Vance, when he himself compared Trump to Hitler?

Vance is a guy in a paper suit. He's definitely intelligent and a good speaker. But he is an empty vessel. The fact that he knows he needs to say such a patently absurd thing just because the Big Boss can't handle anything but total obedience is the most obvious marker of this (well, besides his massive flip from believing Trump is Hitler to thinking Trump is God Incarnate).

Ted gets so into "catching" democrats in the tiniest untruths but sees nothing but virtue in Vance, the guy who sells his voice to the highest bidder. He contradicts himself and then lies about his contradictions. He's maybe scarier than Trump in that sense because at least you see EXACTLY what Trump is at all times. I've heard recently that you can see Trump's narcissism from space.

Ted, I'm guessing you are as upset as I am, but sadly none of those links you posted (but didn't quote) have video of any people saying those things. I'm sorry, but by your own logic you can't trust those sources. Good luck buddy.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

The quote from Don Jr. (does anyone doubt he has said such things?-that's vintage Trump) was given to the Wall Street Journal. You can find the quote within the text of of the Klein podcast-

As for all the Kamala stuff, I've read many such things over the years locally and nationally. Some of the criticism is valid, but much of this has a sexist undertone similar to that used against Amy Klobuchar and other female candidates which seek to cast tough women as shrill and bitchy. Moreover, much of your evidence is about as compelling as your libelous claim that Walz sexually assaulted a minor. For example, the claim that Harris's staff was required to stand at attention and greet her saying "Good morning, General" came from the father of an intern in an op-ed several years ago. I thought you disapproved of second-hand hearsay.. The article you linked (but, on brand, you apparently didn't read) stated that when asked to confirm his father's op ed, the intern declined to do so, but said he was supporting Harris (how traumatized he must have been!) and the father declined to comment as well.

This is like the letter from Trump's personal physician that declared "If elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency," The doc admitted later that Trump wrote the letter. I wonder what prompted Vance to say something so manifestly stupid.
