Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I think a more accurate statement would be "Harris has caught up to where Biden was before he crapped on the debate stage". This was going to be a close election when the media and Democrats were successfully concealing Biden's decline from genpop; now it's a completely different race but will likely still be close. I still think Trump wins because I don't think Harris can run from her record nor can she suppress her natural awkwardness and lack of talent long enough. Trump doesn't have that challenge because while he is supremely awkward and a buffoon, his base will never punish him for it and the middle who will vote for him have come to terms with it.Originally posted by falafel View PostNew Fox News polls show Harris has caught up to Trump in the battle ground states.

I was thinking about the VP picks. Like debates, VP picks are typically given far more weight than their actual value in winning a presidential election. But given how close this race will probably be and the dynamics of two unpopular candidates, VP pick could matter. JD Vance is an awful pick and even many Trump supporters are no openly admitting what a liability he is, especially with the new Democrat opponent. Kamala has to pick Mark Kelly, right? If he would accept, any other choice would be political malpractice. I was reading Mayor Pete is the current frontrunner which would be such a dumb choice. Another empty vessel that would never appeal to the center and do nothing for Kamala in the battleground states.

All nicknames are cringe and I implore everyone here stop using them.
But I will give 2016 Trump his due for a couple of bangers. Namely low energy Jeb and little Marco. Those simple words ended their campaigns. But 2016 Trump aint walking through that door.

Quite the list. We're still early in the game on some of these. It's only been a few days.
Media avoiding the legacy of her 2020 campaign. I don't understand the issue here. Are you upset they aren't focusing how it was unsuccessful? Doesn't seem that relevant to me as she and Biden were subsequently elected and she served the past 3.5 years a VP. Anyway, everyone knows that she ran unsuccessfully against Biden.
Downplaying her connection to the Biden Administration. Really? Isn't her connection obvious? She is tied to Biden, the good and that not so good. We should see plenty of that over the next 100 days. Certainly the Trump campaign will do this and no doubt how her campaign responds will be covered.
GovTrack rating. Yeah, that's weird. Maybe there's a plausible reason for that? Has GovTrack given a reason for deleting her? I'm sure the Trumpers will highlight this, as will FOX and other media on the right.
Raising funds for violent protester legal bills. I thought I'd seen something about this on Twitter and Twitter noted that she is still affiliated with this. Either way, shouldn't people have legal representation? And be considered innocent until prove guilty. Gee, that kid who went into Wisconsin and shot and killed two people during one of the protests had legal representation that no doubt was paid for by some on the right. Anyway, I don't think that has been deleted from her record, and I bet she would state that all people should have adequate legal counsel.
Border Czar. I believe the push was to get the media to refrain from using that term, which the media placed upon her. I thought this was a weird fight because it gets down in the weeds about what she was actually asked to do (take a look at the root causes for migration from a number of Latin American countries). While the Harris campaign was successful it getting the "border czar" term lifted, it seems to me this has been covered extensively, in large part because the Harris campaign made it a priority.
I'm sure these issues will continue to be raised through November. Frankly, it's the Trump campaign's job to focus on her negatives. Up until now it seems the strategy has been to call her names like 'garbage," question her intellect, and other her by noting she hasn't had children.

Yuge understatement... She ran unsuccessful campaign against everyone in 2020. She ran out of money before even the first primary election and never received a single vote. Now she is the Dems' presidential candidate. LOL... Democracy!Originally posted by myboynoah View Post

Yeah, she will have to defend all of the Biden-Harris sh*t and carry much of the blame. Trump just has to do a "search and replace" for all of his rally speeches.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostDownplaying her connection to the Biden Administration. Really? Yes, there is a reason. GovTrack rated her the most liberal senator, there was not even a close second. She is now trying to respawn as more of a moderate. The internet is forever, however. Having GovTrack delete it just brought the fact back into the light. Dumb move.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostGovTrack rating. Yeah, that's weird. Maybe there's a plausible reason for that? Business owners are still pissed about property loss (from looting and vandalism) during the riots which Dems carry the blame for. During this time she was a "cut the funding for law enforcement" cheerleader. Everyone is pissed about their insurance costs going up. So creating a legal fund for the "thugs" is just pissing on the fire with gasoline.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostRaising funds for violent protester legal bills. The border problem is a big issue on a lot of people's minds. Again, trying to lift the term "border czar" has just highlighted it like she is trying to run away from the problem.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostBorder Czar. Edit: What is happening in NYC today?
I guess folks are fed up with their city's budgets being cut because of the immigration problem. Who was the "border czar" again? Oh yeah... she is running for president.
Both campaigns will focusing on each other's negatives... e.g., the Dems have focused on the democracy saying things like democracy is going to die with Trump. Ironically democracy has already died with the democrats given that Harris was "elected" the party's candidate without a single vote. (They should have looked at the candidates that did actually received votes and decided in an open convention.) This makes me laugh every time some Dem mentions Trump is a threat to democracy now.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostI'm sure these issues will continue to be raised through November. Biden claimed in the debate that no american troops were lost under his watch and the withdrawal from Afghanistan was a success... Harris said she had a key role in these decisions:
https://www.politico.com/news/2021/0...ecision-484581Harris says she had key role in Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal decision
The vice president confirmed she was the last person in the room before Biden made the decision to move forward with withdrawing U.S. troops.
Vice President Kamala Harris confirmed Sunday that she was the last person in the room before President Joe Biden made the decision to pull all U.S. troops out of Afghanistan.

Hey, whatever happened to those billion dollars worth of weapons, etc. that were left there in Afghanistan, instead of destroyed?
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/u...hmir-rcna67134U.S. arms left in Afghanistan are turning up in a different conflict
Since falling into the hands of the Taliban, some of the weapons have been seized from militants in Indian-controlled Kashmir in what experts say could be just the start of their global journey.
Weapons left behind by U.S. forces during the withdrawal from Afghanistan are surfacing in another conflict, further arming militants in the disputed South Asian region of Kashmir in what experts say could be just the start of the weapons’ global journey.
Authorities in Indian-controlled Kashmir tell NBC News that militants trying to annex the region for Pakistan are carrying M4s, M16s and other U.S.-made arms and ammunition that have rarely been seen in the 30-year conflict. A major reason, they say, is a regional flood of U.S.-funded weapons that fell into the hands of the Taliban when U.S.-led NATO forces withdrew from Afghanistan in 2021.

So Harris had a major role in funding terrorists."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.
