Barr is a corrupt dirtbag. He helped coverup Iran-Contra and did everything he could to protect Trump from Russiagate (the investigation did not result in criminal charges but there wasnt a lack of evidence of connections with Russia.
His campaign had plenty of ties to Russia.

    • I wouldn't suggest electing any candidate, including Trump, would be national suicide. And while I'm not a fan of Barr for a variety of reasons, I'm glad he's on record saying there was no widespread fraud in the 2020 election. People will cite anecdotal or isolated incidents of election fraud or mistakes, but nothing to contradict the overall conclusion that 2020 was the safest and most secure election in history. When you have over 100,000 voting precincts, a million or so precinct workers, and 160 Million voters, mistakes and even isolated incidents of fraud are an inevitable certainty. We should be proud our system is a safe as it is, rather than condemning our system as corrupt. But demagoguery is always a better vote-getter than gratitude.

But yes, I get tired of people speaking of the "Russia hoax." No charges were ever brought against Trump (and I'm okay with that), but people who think the investigation should never have been brought, that there was no valid reason for the investigation, that the investigation was a waste of money, or that there was no wrongdoing by the Trump camp, are either genuinely stupid or willfully ignorant. I invite anyone to tell me why I'm wrong.

Yes, there should have been an investigation but where the DoJ, etc. F'ed up was they were focused solely on the wrong party...

              [...]
The crumbs all lead to Albright, who fits the description and had just returned from Cambridge, where she had conversed with individuals connected to foreign intel agencies, including one of the Five Eyes that Brennan had tasked with connecting Trump associates to Russia. If so, that would mean individuals connected to the foreign intelligence communities were not merely gathering intel on Trump and his associates to share with U.S. intelligence agencies but that they also conspired with the Clinton campaign to further the Russia-collusion hoax.

There’s an irony here, however, as Brennan also gathered evidence on Clinton and her campaign’s plot to paint Trump as a Russian stooge to distract from her own scandals.

If Drumpf does win the upcoming election it would be nice to see him gut the CIA completely and cut the FBI in half. The "I" in CIA doesn't stand for intelligence but rather idiots. Let me present Exhibit A:

              • For you folks who are hyper-defensive regarding Biden's cognitive state, I just read an interesting op-ed on NRO. This is in regard to the backlash against Robert Hur and his recent report from the special counsel investigation on Biden. Quoting NRO editor Charlie Cooke.

                https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/robert-hurs-sin/

“Well, Robert Hur said what he saw. He interviewed the guy. . . . His job was to look for discrepancies and he found a great number of them, and he concluded that they weren’t malicious. It’s very strange that that’s prompted criticism.”

Some critics, Charlie pointed out, tried to say, “‘He’s not a doctor.’ All right, well, he is an investigator. So should we conclude that the many problems with Joe Biden’s testimony were willful then? And should he be charged? Pick one.

“This is a classic example of what happens when the one guy in the room . . . says, ‘No, I’m not pretending.’ I cannot describe to you the contempt I feel for the people who are still insisting that Biden is fine. It betrays an extraordinary lack of regard, not only for the truth, but for everyone else in the country. . . . And you know why we’re seeing it? It’s because of fear of the consequences.”

It’s too late, Charlie said, for Democrats “to deal with the consequences of Joe Biden’s obvious infirmity.

“They’ve made this bed, and they’re going to have to lie in it.”
Biden will be 86 years old at the end of his term if reelected. I saw a recent poll showing 85% of Americans think Biden is too old for a second term. Oy vey.

Just so I'm clear, do you regard me (and if not me, then who? Name names!!!) as being hyper-defensive about Biden's cognitive state? I hope not, since I've said he's senile with age-related cognitive decline and I would very strongly prefer a different Democratic nominee. But I'm frustrated by the common confusion that senility = dementia, which it does not. I'm unsure whether your repetitious "Not Dementia!" declarations (i) are trolls, (ii) reflect a belief that senility and dementia are the same thing, or (iii) mean you think that Biden truly has Alzheimer's Disease, or Frontotemporal, Lewy Body, or vascular dementia.

                          • lol remember that time the GOP tried to launch an impeachment inquiry against a sitting president using a compromised informant sent by Russian Intelligence? That was great. GFY, Republicans.

I don't think anything in this discussion is clear, so good luck with that.
