    NYT: "America Hires a Strongman":

Donald Trump told Americans exactly what he planned to do.

He would use military force against his political opponents. He would fire thousands of career public servants. He would deport millions of immigrants in military-style roundups. He would crush the independence of the Department of Justice, use government to push public health conspiracies and abandon America’s allies abroad. He would turn the government into a tool of his own grievances, a way to punish his critics and richly reward his supporters. He would be a “dictator” — if only on Day 1.

And, when asked to give him the power to do all of that, the voters said yes.
We're about to find out just how unlibertarian Trump and Trump Jr. are going to be.

Yes. And the leadership of the Democratic Party should’ve had the guts to fight him on it, but they didn’t.

Majority of people still can't explain what CRT is. They were very effectively bombarded with messaging that it was dreadful.

Same with DEI. Having a women's resource center and on a college campus wasn't something people lost sleep over.

Yep. I’m a big supporter of diversity initiatives, especially when hiring. But I’m seeing promotion for “diverse” candidates where non diverse candidates leaving because, while more qualified and having a higher business impact, they were passed over for the position. I’m also seeing special one time vesting stock awards for diverse candidates.

The problem is that because of past biases/racism/sexism, there aren’t enough diverse candidates in the pipeline and a lot of lower performing candidates are being promoted and rewarded at the higher levels. It is frustrating for a lot of people.

Like I mentioned, I’m a big supporter of diversity and it should be considered in hiring and other aspects of the business. I’ve got some great diverse employees I’m working with, but it shouldn’t be to the point that diverse employees are blatantly favored over more qualified, higher impacting employees.

Well, I will never begrudge Americans voting to protest the status quo and Biden wasn't particularly positive. I don't think he was as bad as many conservative Americans do but I respect their point of view and civil liberty to express and choose a different direction.

I do not respect their choice who should lead their charge of representing their values and America should be embarrassed that this asshat clown plowed through the primaries. We are the laughing stock of the world right now.

Not that anyone here is unaware:
-Advocated for his VP to be murdered when he wouldn't overturn the election
-Fomented a mob to ransack the capital
-Praises authoritarian dictators, has private meetings with Putin with no US official present and no record of discussion
-Brags about grabbing women by their kitty cats
-Calling for opponents and press to be jailed
-Holds up a bible in a photo op after gassing protestors
-Press is the "enemy of the people"
    -Drink bleach to treat covid
-Fuck the scientists at the national weather service, this hurricane is going to slam Alabama and here's a sharpie line to prove it.

And my personal most recent favorite, pantomimed giving a microphone a blowjob and his crowd basically asked him to perform the same service on them.

This is the champion of the party of family values. This is the party I belonged to until 2018, I will never associated myself with these asshats ever again (independent forever). Thank you redneck America for elevating your best and brightest to the head of the land of the free and the brave. Can't wait for the next 4 years of total shitshow and xenophobia.

The republican party is an embarrassment to the human race. I am not a registered democrat but the supreme court having a 50 year super majority of q-anon assholes is not good for america. This place sucks right now.
