My guess is that is why Biden proposed raising the child tax credit to $3,600 a year.

The slam dunk for this, IMO, give parents 5k tax credit for all children under 18.

All new borns have an account with 10k invested in an index.

Allow parents to contribute 2k a year additionally.

Money is granted to the person in tiers, college, starting a business, trade school.

Sweeteners for military service like matching account balance.

It would cost like 40b a year, such a small price to pay.

Do we really need more kids? I can't go to a restaurant in Utah County without having my meal spoiled by the already teeming packs of unsupervised kids running up and down the aisles. I don't want more kids. I want bounties on the kids we already have.

This would be phenomenal. It's ridiculous that you lose the child tax credit at 17, quite possibly the most expensive year of your child's life to that point.

This would be great. So great that both sides would find some reason to tank it.

They should also do something like they do with military signing bonuses. Like they get American baby recruiters at every abortion clinic to negotiate. Like they offer things like tax incentives or IRS audits of the baby daddy to get the mom to take the baby to term. If she's still on the fence they arrange for a wealthy gay couple to adopt the baby. I don't actually believe they should do this, but I can't get it out of my head.

SIgn me up. At the very least let me keep with the full child tax credit until my kid is at least 18 not 17 like it is now.

Small price to pay for the continuation of the social security.

Surely there has to be better spokespeople for a a real problem than these featured at NatalCon:

Collins and her husband, Malcolm Collins, have courted press coverage by being "intentionally cringe." It has worked: Over the last few years, they've been profiled by many news outlets, including The Telegraph, The Washington Post and The Guardian. The couple tells journalists they've curated their family's image based on data. They chose their kids' names (Industry Americus, Titan Invictus, Octavian George, Torsten Savage) in hopes of launching them toward impressive careers. Simone, rather than Malcolm, ran (unsuccessfully) for state office in Pennsylvania because they felt a woman would be more electable...The Collinses are seen by fellow pronatalists as members of the movement's "tech" camp. The couple uses and advocates for in vitro fertilization and claims the embryos of their four children were screened for illnesses, mental health issues and potential intelligence...

The first Natal Con, in 2023, included a presentation by far-right businessman Charles Haywood on the importance of men-only spaces. Haywood, who founded a shampoo company and aspires to be a self-described "warlord," told the audience that workplaces should revert to privileging men with families and being segregated by sex. "And generally, women should not have careers. They should be socially stigmatized if they have careers," Haywood said at Natal Con that year. He sponsored this year's conference but didn't speak..."The Civil Rights Act of 1964 and its progeny are probably the single most destructive set of laws in American history, and all should be wiped forever from the history of this nation," Haywood said in 2023, drawing applause from the Natal Con crowd.
And of course Jack Posobiec was a featured speaker.

Japan is falling off a cliff and there is little hope for a correction.

                            https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...095be609c290aa

Japan’s population fell by more than 3 million over the past five years, according to official statistics released on Friday, a drop that underscores the depths of the country’s accelerating demographic crisis.
For decades, the Japanese authorities have tried to make up for the rapidly aging population by encouraging young people to have more children. But the effort has fallen short, leaving the country with one of the world’s lowest birth rates. For each new birth, there are two deaths.

Japan is a harbinger of the demographic headwinds that will soon buffet other developed countries. The shrinking population is already constraining Japan's economic growth, putting pressures on its health care system and causing labor shortages.
“Japan has now reached a level where this kind of decline is not reversible in the short- or medium-run,” said James Raymo, a professor of sociology at Princeton University who studies Japan. “It simply will not happen in the absence of mass immigration.”
Japan’s woes are likely to worsen in the coming decades. It will probably become increasingly difficult to find workers to staff schools, hospitals, police departments and train stations. And the country could lack enough young people to pay the taxes necessary to support retirees.

Professor Raymo said the Japanese government’s efforts to promote fertility had “not really moved the needle.” He said that ultimately Japan could provide lessons for other governments.

“More and more countries in Asia and elsewhere will experience similar levels of demographic decline,” he said. “Japan is just at the forefront and has been at it much longer.”
Given US trends, this is likely our future too. Pretty bleak. But hey, hurray for careers and self-realization right?

The scientists at Amway assure us demographic collapse is manageable. Either exponential growth continues forever, or everyone gets a personal AI grandson that calls twice a year and helps reboot the Wi-Fi router. Nature finds a way.
