Same here. I had vacillated on the subject for years, but Just Mercy ended my ambivalence.
Next you need to read The Free World by Menand.

Where's the thread to post where I'm right? That might be easier for me to list. I find I am right on average twice a day.

I used to think being smart was a lot more important than it actually is.

I also used to think I was a lot smarter than I actually am.

            Wrong thread!
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I was wrong about Taysom Hill and his future in the NFL while he was playing QB for BYU. Even comparing him to the QB of my local high school team, which understandably, upset many sensibilities. In retrospect, it was wrong to compare Taysom to a future Heisman Trophy winner, #1 draft pick, and current starting QB in the NFL.

I have that next on my list after I finish Battle Cry of Freedom by McPherson (which is excellent, btw).

i was wrong thinking this thread was a sign of SU’s willingness to be wrong.

                      Haha.

You weren't talking about future prospects. You were claiming that at that specific point in time, the HS kid (a junior at the time?) was a better QB than the college guy tearing it up for BYU. Take your L like a man!

I clarified my remarks to include future potential. I also specifically mentioned passing skills - that Kyler Murray as a junior QB in high school was a better passer than Taysom Hill as a junior QB for BYU...and I was correct. But I was wrong to bring that up in a thread praising the merits of Taysom Hill.

How many years has it been? Still wrong.

but a worthy entry for this thread. Thank you.

                              I was wrong about Trump.

He ended up being even worse than I thought.

                                Here, here.

It is time for the USA to close it borders to the unvaccinated like our friends have to the North and many other countries have. What good is it to mandate all Americans to be vaccinated only to allow well over a million mostly unvaccinated migrants come into our county just this year? Not to mention USPS workers and Congress and their staff. It's time for Biden to correct these mistakes and holes in the mandate!
