What it really marks is the high water mark of Democrat control of the White House and Congress. Dozens of these politicians, including the president, will be defeated the next time they face voters as a direct consequence of this.

It's really not going to change that much except to make health insurance and health care generally much more expensive much more quickly.

I think this legislation will just magnify all the problems of our current third-party payer system so that a real health care fix will need to come sooner.

The Patriot Act was a near death experience that was inflicted by the last administration and then left untreated by the current administration.

If that turns out to be the case, a lot of this legislation will be repealed over time I guess.

I'm not sure the individual mandate to buy health insurance is a bad thing and maybe that will persist in some form even if a lot of other parts of this bill end up being repealed.

I thought Lifi already observed the death of the United States last year?

So how soon to we become Europe?

Didn't Rush Limbaugh say he was going to move to a different country if this happened? Hopefully he doesn't pull an Alec Baldwin and wimp out.

I wonder how they think a person as poor as myself will pay for my forced health coverage? Maybe I'll be required to donate plasma twice a week ...for free.

My guess is that he moves to the Dominican Republic......

So this bill is worse than social security? Not even close. We've been slowly moving into a more socialist state for well over 100 years. That's not really a bad thing.

It is unprecedented that the government is now forcing us to buy something. That in and of itself is ludicrous and the government should have no way of doing such a thing. I'd much rather have a public option or nationalized healthcare over this stupid bill any day.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Apparently you aren't poor enough. If you were, you could get it for free. Check into it, you may qualify.

I am going to have my youngest son check into it. If he qualifies, I am for the bill. I can stop paying for his insurance.
