Typical lawyer. Thinks the other guy is not as savvy or smart as he is.

In my world, premium is in reference to face value. Since I made the offer, we will deal in my world.

My guess is we see 11,000 before May. I have no idea what happens after that. Down a 1,000, up a 1,000, however, my guess is that by year end we will be solidly above 11,000.

Dow is above 11,100 and it ain't even May 1st yet. Ignore what I said a week or two ago when the Dow hit 10,900, I didn't mean it. I knew we would get here.

Note: Unless you have 2 million to invest and you will sign an affadavit you won't bother me, I am not doing any personally advising.

A little volitility here with a couple of nasty down days. With todays current down 223, we are where we were the end of March.

If we continue to slide, look for Nuriel Roubini (sp) and Peter Schiff to start getting more air time.

These guys were both still negative when the Dow was at 6,500 and haven't changed their tune since. If we go down another 200-300 points, watch for these guys to show up on TV and the anchor start off by saying, "Nuriel, you have been saying this market is overpriced..............."

Note: Viking I know you don't give a shit about the US market or the Dow Jones.

The recent bear market rally may be a market in denial. It seems like we are heading into another period of stagflation like in the 70's. Consumer inflation is up 2% since the beginning of the year. Energy and food cost are up almost 19% alone. Unemployment is still high and interest rates are artificially low.

Varying opinions on what the future brings is what makes this whole thing so interesting and why there are winners and losers in the short term and the long term.

I don't recognize this breitbart guy unless he is the one that Hannity has on who exposes the left. I think he does a pretty good job of it.

I discount though what folks like Hannity and Beck have to say about the future when it comes to economics. Remember, they are rooting for us to go in the toilet so they will grasp anything that says we are.

Let the debate begin. We were overdue for a bit of a correction. Actually though fundamentally I can't see anything that has changed in the last few days but sentiment.

As far as the economy as a whole goes, tell me how the election goes and I will make a prediction. Otherwise I am sticking with the people I trust and what they are telling me.

Could I expect the Mortgage interest rates to go up in the next 2 to 3 months???

I think short term yes linked to the mad push to take advantage of the last months of the tax break, but I doubt they go too high as real estate is still depressed. Eventually the inflation has to set in but I doubt it gets real bad for mortage rates for some time. The fed will keep IR low until employment starts to improve.

Probably more like 5 or 6 months.

Do you think it would be that quick? I am planning to start a home in September and have it completed by June. I was expecting mortage rates to increase but didn't think they would go very high by June 2011 as I am still assuming the feds will keep IR low and I doubt the real estate market improves significantly by then.

I attended a conference in DC last month where a leading economist spoke and gave some rationale for that time frame, but I've forgotten what his reasoning was.

Do you remember how high he thought they would rise by the middle of 2011? The other option is to hunker down and wait a decade and by then I doubt I would need any more space.
