I am impressed with the Market Run

we have had over the last month. We had a discussion on here quite awhile ago about technical analysis and it's value. If most technicians are using the same method as the guy from S&P to make trading decisions, they have lost their shirt in this run up.

If only I had done the opposite daily or hourly of what he was suggesting, I could bag sitting here answering phones and posting on this board. I could just call my good friends who could go and say we are going to Hawaii and play golf until we get tired of it and I will pay.

What do you attribute it to, big spenda?

I have no idea but I want to hear from a man who understands the impact of northern European fishing markets on microlending in India. You are da man to break it down for a simpleton such as myself.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

I doubt you will be impressed with my answer. The alternatives to bonds and the market right now just aren't that good. Money market rates even at the credit union are well below 1%.

While unemployment is a bummer for a lot of Americans, it really isn't that bad for a lot of corporations. They have tons of cash and if they need to borrow, they can borrow cheaply on historical terms.

Right now if a problem crops up, someone just borrows more money to cover it. While that can be real problematic down the road, it doesn't hurt anything right here an now or for that matter the next 6 months.

Not very informative or technical, huh. I got disillusioned with reading or watching the experts explain each day why the market is moving that day. They have nothing better to do but blow smoke out their fannies, IMHO.

However, I will have to admit, I often succumb to the thinking "they are smarter than I am" and have done so my whole career. Therefor, all the talking heads got me nervous when the market went below 10,000 in Jan. Instead of taking the 30% I had in cash and loading up I put another 20% into cash and now I am even more ticked at those guys. Yea, it is their fault, not mine for listening. Luckily I don't play those games in my 401K.

Now, I will make a famous BYU71 GUESS. No one should go out and invest based on this guess I am making. It is like those drug adds, "you should consult your own adviser before doing anything."

My guess is we see 11,000 before May. I have no idea what happens after that. Down a 1,000, up a 1,000, however, my guess is that by year end we will be solidly above 11,000.

I am only posting this so people can pull it up at the end of the year, point the finger at me, and exclaim, what a dumb ass.

With all due respect most of us won't wait that long to call you a dumb ass. You are likely to provide more than adequate opportunities to make you aware of this numerous times before the end of the year!

        Sorry, just being honest!

I hate when honesty and truth come together. It is such a hard combination to refute.

Are you looking for the 5-10% correction after it goes up another 5-10%.

Dow hit 10,900 this morning. That is close enough to 11,000 that I consider it 11,000. You are all now on your own.

I didn't see this in time to put all my money in it. Thanks for nothing.

One of my 401k accounts increased by 63% in the last year. Market run indeed.

Well, in all actuality, if I had told everyone to get in and they did, the market would have tanked. Besides that, you didn't miss much, maybe 2.5%.

So you just cost yourself a potential buyer of your BYU football tickets against all those worthless opponents.

LOL. Actually the tickets have already been sold. My nephew bought them. I hope there are some decent single game tickets left for the Washington game.

How I wish Rocky were on board here. He always gave me major grief whenever I threated to sell my tickets. He always said I was blowing smoke, actually he was more descriptive. He was always right, but not this time.

I will have the usual set of 4 donor seats for next season. As always, for sale.
