Jobs Bill: More govt giving to local govt. (UGH)

First, I am sick and tired of the massive spending taking place right now. I oppose any spending that I do not think will have any impact on the economy. The Dems are of the opinion that giving to money to local govt's etc will in fact cause the economy to turn around. I do not see govt., local govt or state govt as the driving force of our economy.

Just from what this little snippet article states that seems to be the direction of this Bill. I hope it becomes available so I can view what it has for small business, in a way to ease their burdens. I would also support tax breaks for us in some way (The middle class)... Give us some money to ease our burdens..

Overall. I guess this will just infuriate more people that the elected officials are once again not listening to the people..

Link to Article (Not really an article but more of a statement):

Note: The unemployment extension is a good thing along with extension to subsidies for healthcare coverage for those out of work.

Hey, dabrock. Please don't take this the wrong way. I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind making an "official dabrockster is pissed at the current administration thread". It would tidy things up in this forum quite a bit. Plus it would give us one place where all of your complaints are neatly categorized. Win-win.

none taken. That is a good suggestion... I'll start it the next time I see something I dislike...

But in this case. It's not the administration who pissed me off..

I will modify the title to be "The Official dabrockster is pissed at the current legislatures and WH Admin".

Note: Do you promise to comment? I have a feeling it will be me talking to myself?? But ranting is a good thing..

Maybe we can have a "Palin is an idiot because_" thread and a "The Church sucks because_" thread too. As long as we're cleaning things up around here, let's include all of the dead horses.

Really? Is TWO YEARS of unemployment benefits really a good thing?

I think it is a good thing. There are a lot of families suffering right now. My brother was without work for a year and a half. and this is a guy who has Law degree and has been very successful most of his life. And he was having a dam hard time finding work. Did some consulting, but nothing firm, and all the jobs he had in the past were run dry.. Even now he is doing something that is well below his ability but it pays his bills..

This recession is wreaking havoc out there..

Does the bill have a sunset clause built in? I could MAYBE get behind 99 weeks of unemployment benefits if it was a temporary measure. Otherwise, we're just expanding the welfare state.

Expanding unemployment benefits in a jobs bill......AWESOME!

If congress really wants people to get hired, they should make it less costly to hire people, which they are trying to do...I think...but then again this thing is probably going to be so full of pork it would win first place at a BBQ contest in NC.
