Just saw this, so forgive me if it's old news. It's quite shocking on many levels.

I think this is a good sign. It means she wants to prepare and perform well. She means business. I'm sure she regrets not writing things on her hand before the Katie Couric interview.

I can hear the response now, "Obama sucks if you get him off a teleprompter".

This prompted and all-time low for Faux News yesterday:

Palin’s ‘Telepalmer’ Notes Were A Clever Plot To Call Attention To Obama’s Teleprompter

            http://thinkprogress.org/2010/02/08/...in-telepalmer/

CARLSON: I think she did it on purpose. I think she did it on purpose, yeah. Because it’s an exact opposite of reading off the teleprompter with a script written for you with every word in a sentence and here’s she’s just taking crib notes on her hand. It makes her look like she can just talk off the cuff and she just jotted down a few couple notes before she went out to give a big long speech.

DOOCY: I think she did it because she probably does it a lot. I do that all the time. [...]

KILMEADE: But to sit there and look at, and do the interview and look down at her hand, I think that is — like you said before, Gretchen — folksy, absolutely, down-to-earth, I can identify. But if you’re going to write on your hand, why not just say, ’staffer, hand me a card.’ And then it would be okay.

CARLSON: Nah, like I said, I think it was on purpose. But anyway, we we may never know.

Sarah Palin is dumber than a bag of dried leaves. I was flipping through the channels last night and was on whatever channel has Bill Kristol (Fox maybe?) and he was asked what he thought about her running in 2012. Watching him squirm as he tried not to say something mean was pretty funny.

For conservatives who have not lost most of our brain cells to NASCAR induced intoxication, this woman's undeniable popular appeal and our simultaneous revulsion for her is a troubling paradox. Maybe the left is right. Maybe people are too stupid to identify their self interests.

Why doe she garner so much attention? I am watching Crissy Matthews and his whole opening spew is bashing Palin. If she is such a dunderhead, why does she incur so much wrath from folks like Crissy.

                He really is in pain.

I think the "Hi Mom!" message is pretty funny, but it doesn't make up for the earlier gaffe. There's nothing wrong with jotting down speaking points or short notes. Or even an entire speech to be delivered by teleprompter. But writing your notes on your hand makes Palin look inexperienced.

Especially when the notes were so stupid. It'd be like Bush writing "war, terror, baseball" on his hand.

The reason Palin gets so much attention is that there really are enough stupid people in this country that she could some day be president. Particularly having just announced that she will run if the opportunity arises, there's no reason not to remind people how retarded she is, particularly when she does something like this.

I agree. This is the fascinating part.

What kind of stupid "crib notes" are those? She can't remember "lift American spirits" and "cut taxes?"

Of course, this is the same person that couldn't remember Joe Biden's name, so she started the debate by asking if she could just call him "Joe."
                          Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

We would all be better off with much better leaders if we could devise some kind of "stupid" test. Those that tested as stupid would not be allowed to vote.

How do you know those weren't merely to remind her of the order of her speech? She did, after all, give the speech without a teleprompter or notes, besides those 6 words. And the speech was very well received. I saw that even Andrew Sullivan said that she gave a heckuva speech.

I personally, have never been a fan of her speaking, or much else. But the knee-jerk, default to calling her stupid annoys me.
