The US will end up sending billions and billions of arms to Taiwan, but I think it will end up being like when the Chinese swarmed like locust over Korea in the Korean war...I doubt there will be much chance of stopping an invasion there.
OK, I will admit to being totally naive on the subject, so those who are tempted to mock me for the question, you are wasting your energy. I just admitted I am totally naive.

Now my question. How is it in our interests to send billions of dollars to Taiwan and protect them from being taken over by the Chinese. It is about time all these other countries that have received our protection realize we are out of money!!!! France, Germany, Israel, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, we have no more money. If all of you are afraid of anyone, ban together and use your own money. Otherwise, maybe you will just have to become part of some other country.

I think what he is saying is that we sold Taiwan $6 billion worth of arms. They paid us $6 billion.
        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Don't you think at some point these countries will realize they have enough problems of their own without taking on the problems of another country.

What incentive would China have to invade Taiwan?

They have always viewed Taiwan as a "break away province" so they feel it really part of their country. Kind of like Lincoln, and most of the north, felt during the "War of Northern Aggression".

I may be small, but I'm slow.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."

Unless it takes 6 billion to develop said arms, then we got zero revenue..

It's a little ironic they are going to take us down with their capitalist ways.

Yea and they are succeeding. Some leaders already in the US are pointing to China as an example of how it is done.

This I understand, but what is the incentive? Destroying the Taiwanese infrastructure and government of Taiwan in a war would offer China nothing economically or politically.
