  • Toyota is in for serious trouble

According to msn they are halting sales on 8 models. This is like Ford's tire recall in 2001 which sent them down a 8 year crash course.

The Economist had a piece on Toyota about six weeks ago:

Sounds like they're really in trouble now.

I've often driven with MRD in cars that suffered from "uncontrollable acceleration." Like that time we drove from Phoenix to SLC in about 75 minutes.

I thought MRD was a domestic guy.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

110 when you slowed down for the curves. You remember those curves - with all those little crosses where people had died? Yeah, those curves.

Lame. Maybe if it kills me ldc can get something cool, a car of the future or something.

I think my truck new something was up with Toyota yesterday, maybe the mother ship sent out a homing beacon or something, my hands free wasn't working then at random times would just start making calls.

I had a Silverado before this, and a Ford before that. It is a better truck than either of those. Are you suggesting a Dodge? Maybe for in a couple year when this one gets over 125k.

I might be mistaken on this, but all of the models mentioned in this article that have problems are made in the US with only a minority of the parts (mainly the transmission) made in Japan. The Japanese/Asian made models the 4Runner, Landcruiser, Scions and (I believe) Yaris aren't having issues. I've never bought an American made Toyota, but specifically looked for and bought a model made in Japan. I believe the light pickups are still made overseas, no?
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

My 1995 Ford Escort LX 1.9 litre sedan would go over 110, no problem.

Unless the timing belt shredded while you were going that fast on I-15 near Parowan; yeah, that sucked.
