I like my kind bar because of the satisfying texture and chew, and the natural ingredients (sans refined sugar) with terrific flavors. It's great with black coffee. I don't need more protein. I eat plenty otherwise.
Kind bars are delicious. I just hate picking them out of my teeth for the next hour.

We love Kind bars, taking them on hikes and rides. I disapprove of your favorite as it involves the use of dried fruit with chocolate (I think the Old Testament forbids that), but all the other Kind bars are delish. And Costco/Kirkland makes a pretty good knock-off as well.
We've ought several flats of Fair Life in recent months. It's very good.

The last year and a half has been bad for my health. First, I took a biglaw job. I lasted 82 days, but billing 300 hours per month makes it really hard to exercise, and I got out of a lot of my good habits.
Personally, I've had a rough 18 months. Stress, anxiety, etc. has not been ideal. However, I went back to an old employer with new job responsibilities, and that's going well.
That said, although I'm mostly steady on weight, I gained weight consistetly between June 2021 to December 2022, with most of the gain in late 2022. I herniated a lumbar disc last summer, and the outside of my right leg is numb to my pinky toe. My right calf is significantly weaker than my left. I probably returned to physical activity too quickly/intensely post-injury, because now both of my knees have signficant arthritis.
I've put a pause on pickleball while I try to improve strength and flexibility. Luckily, I'm not anywhere near my old weight, but I'm still morbidly obese.
Strange thing: in the last 12 years, I've lost significant weight twice. And both times, i hit my low weight at the exact same spot, with the same circumstances. A weeks-long plateau, a breakthrough, and then a steady increase in weight. It's probably more psychological than physiological, but it does make me wonder if my body starts metabolizing differently at a certain weight.
Strength training with a herniated disk is definitely different, and I'm struggling to strengthen my hamstrings, which I worry is creating an imbalance in my legs and affecting my knees. But, I just keep pushing on.
Yes.
Once your body reaches a particular weight, it fights to get back to that weight by slowing your metabolism. It's cruel.

Good for you eliminating refined sugar. But I think you're losing that much weight because of the simple arithmetic of 2500-2800 calories in and 4000-5000 calories out.
Sadly, I"m up considerably since that post, but for about a month, my caloric intake and exercise was the same. Elimination of all refined sugar really helped. I need to get back on track.
They are amazing. Tastes just like chocolate milk. None of that typical protein flavor. They also have strawberry and salted caramel. You can get them at Sam’s or Costco.
Compare and contrast with Premier Protein, please.
