Anybody know off the top of their head if that is faster than the time at Boston this last spring?
I didn't know off the top of my head, a little over a second slower.

    • Well, Saturday is the big day. Unfortunately I've developed some posterior tibialis tendonitis. I'm not going to run until race day and hope it isn't too bothersome. Still, I feel the healthiest I ever have going in and am hoping for a great day.

        • After LOTOJA I decided I needed a new bucketlist challenge so I'm going to run a spring marathon. After making the decision I went and ran 4.5 miles in 38 minutes. Nothing special, but it was my first time running in over a year and furthest I had ran since high school (10+ years)...I could hardly walk for 4 days.

I think I might ease into it a bit more from here out.

Good luck you two. I really wish I had gotten in.

What Coach said...except for the part about getting in. Also, don't run in old shoes.

              • Boston released the actual qualifying times for 2012.

The cut-off was much closer than I feared it would be. You had to beat your BQ time by more than 74 seconds to get in. It was satisfying for me to see that even though I turned 45 this year, I would have qualified as a 40-year-old ... barely.

So wait, are there still spots for 2012. I can run 5 minutes slower than I was shooting for and still qualify? Pain be damned I am going for it!!

No. Registration is closed. The times listed are what the cutoff times ended up being after they reached the limit.

                    • My son has a soccer game in st g that morning, so we're going to try to head over and watch the finish line. Steel, piney, and solon are running...anyone else?
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Dang, back to no way I will qualify. Congrats on getting in.

Mrs. Bluegoose will also be there.

I have an idea where Piney, Steel, and Solon will be finishing; what is Mrs BG shooting for?

She is planning on 4:00. I think she should be able to do it without too much trouble. She is in good shape this year. The x-factor is how much she wants to gab with her friends along the way. She is a very social runner and would talk for the entire 4+ hours if she could.
