I'm not sure that mens rea should be a factor here. CJF is a CUF mainstay, and his earlier health issues and his efforts to overcome them are well-documented and admirable. Clearly his work is consistent with the spirit of the Challenge. I say let him enter. Besides, adding his numbers is enough to get us through the Lincoln Tunnel and into the Theater District.

    • None for me. Apparently I lost my motivation somewhere between Western Kentucky and NOVA.

      I'm sorry

I'll enter them. Looks like I started two weeks before the challenge so I'll only get 90 plus my 2.5 today. I just looked at my chart. I lost 22.5 pounds since Nov 19th. Finished the year down 87 pounds from my heaviest moment. First time in 9 years I start the new year under 300. Hopefully 2013 is a continuation. I still have a very long way to go.

        • I entered but looks like I did it wrong as I'm at the bottom and not included in the totals. Not sure how to fix and I'm on my phone so I have limited resources to correct.

I took care of it mostly. Moliere can fix the rest.

              • Cupcake did a 5.5 miler on the 28th before we left for the inlaws. She will be snowshoeing today for about 4 miles if that will count as well. We barely have cell service and don't have the computer to enter figures on the google spreadsheet.

Since I started my change I have cheated once. A half teaspoon of key lime pie from Joe's Stone Crab in Miami. That was it. No Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas cheating at all. It has gotten easier and easier. When I began walking my 2.5 miles a day it took me 45 minutes the first few days. This morning it took 19. I'll up it tomorrow a bit and hopefully by May I'm light enough that I can begin jogging. My goal is to lose 75 pounds in 2013. I think I'll probably up that to 90.

                    They count, definitely.

Don't listen to DH. He probably doesn't even walk as I'm sure he pays for people to carry him around in a little basket like Marie Antoinette.

That is seriously admirable. Even if the challenge didn't help you, I love to hear stories like this. It reminds me of LC's weight loss. Very cool.

I've updated the spreadsheet and sorted it by ranking. We are less than 20 miles from the finish.

                      • We need just 17 more miles, and Happyone, ERCougar, OhioBlue, Cupcake and Parrothead, among others, haven't checked in today. I can see the Hudson River!

Snowshoeing counts as walking, I guess. I'll let her make the call. I'm fine with allowing it though not that I'm the God of this challenge. That sucks though because I really wanted to be top 5, which won't happen but top 6 was a nice consolation prize. Now I'm slipping to top 7 with hopes of not slipping farther.

I updated the map and we are on the outskirts of Newark. As my track coach would say to me as I rounded the last corner of the 400M race "Hey Ironman, Put the hammer down!!!!!!"

I'll see if I can find 20 minutes today to put in another 2.5 in. Now that I'm in I want to pass HB.

That's the spirit!! Plus, we need a bigger guy (well, you are less bigger than before) to get us through the outskirts of Newark. I wouldn't dare run through that place.
