I ran 14.1 miles yesterday. My half marathon split was 2:00:20, which I know is too fast but I felt good. I think I need to take more water with me, or at least stop and buy some at the half way point. I take 20 ounces and had to ration at the end. When I got home I filled the bottle back up with ice water and then took a 1/2 mile walk around the block. During that 1/2 miles I drank 3/4 of the water and dumped the rest on my head and I was still chugging water all day long.

Btw, it was 60 degrees during the run

I lost a pair of socks on this morning's run. It was almost two pair.

Having finally eliminated all remnants of the Killer Burrito that kept me off the road over the weekend, my daughter and I ventured out this morning for an easy 6.6 miles and it felt good. That was enough to push our contingent to the outskirts of Cleveland, a town famous for its symphony, a hapless baseball team (but which at least gave us Major League) and the infamous river fire (the Cuyahoga erupted into flames back in my youth due to pollution).

Hope everyone manages to get a few miles in over the next 48 hours, but more importantly, that everyone has a great Christmas celebration. You've all been very motivating to me; it's time to party (before our final push).

While puppy proofing my backyard I got a piece of wire lodged into my right calf. It drew a good amount of blood and some screams from me. It's now just a bit bruised and sore but looks like ill have to push my 7 miler to the day after Christmas to give it some time to heal.

My leg has got to get better, I really wanted to put in a small contribution to this challenge and end the year on a good running note.

The Christmas holiday, overeating and lousy weather is taking a heavy toll, and our goal to reach NYC by New Year's Eve is very much in doubt. We seem doomed to celebrate that night in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, and it won't be pretty.

Hopefully, people can step it up. I'm nearly done with my toxic burrito issues and hope to add up to 20 before the end of the year. The good news about my malady is that I've been nearly impervious to the temptations of fudge, cookies, and all other manner of Christmas treats, and I've lost eight pounds in the past week.

I've only got another 38 until the end of the year. Sorry. I think a lot of us are heading into tapers.

Yeah, well your taper brings you back to only 200% of a normal human's, so you're still good. I still need a couple of long runs before I'll feel comfortable heading to Orlando.

The storms came through here and shut down my running for the day. Where's Coach been? Is he still training for the upcoming full? If so, he should have plenty of miles to log.
I have nothing else to say at this time.

We've eeked into Pennsylvania. Now's not the time to let up. If you haven't logged your miles, please do so now. We need about another 250 miles to make it to NY to watch the ball drop on Times Square.

I think we need around 350, but maybe I forgot to add the 100 miles we enjoyed in landpoke's party bus that got us through eastern Wyoming.

You're right. We still need 359 miles. We have 5 days to do it. We need to average about 72 miles per day, but given that most don't run on Sunday we need to up that a bit. Hopefully people have long runs planned for Saturday. I've got an 11 miler planned and another 4 miles on Monday.

I think that I am only good for about 20 more miles between now and New Years Eve. 5 tomorrow, 10 on Saturday and 5 more on NYE. Wish I could do more. Sunday morning is out for me. I have a talk in church that day and with any luck I will have already started my preparation by the time I would be available for a quick jog.

You prep on the run, silly. That's when my GD classes are prepped anyway.
