For the record I used to break 90 on a regular basis. I'm not sure what's been going on the last few years. Hence the need for a pro.
That isn't a fair bet. I played a total of 4 rounds in my life prior to August of last year. I think I should get a handicap or some strokes or something. I also should have read the rest of the thread before I agreed to a bet with you.

For many years my swing thought was "rhythm, tempo." Rhythm on the backswing and tempo on the down. I think you're more of a rhythm guy than some '70s golf icon.

      Newcastle sometime in April?

Don't worry about Shaka. Heck he didn't bother to come and get his shoes from me for a year.

But you're tall and athletic. You're probably more handsome too. Due to these genetic gifts you will easily surpass my ability in the twinkling of an eye.

Don't listen to our resident golfing geriatric. I was gutting out rounds barefoot after he stole my shoes and held them hostage. I only received them back after PAC intervened.

          • 89 at Hobble Creek. Was striking the ball as well as ever. Putting was atrocious, even by my standards. Only went out of bounds a few times.

Can I get in on this? Do I just send you a reimbursable receipt for my lunch every time I shoot less than 90?

LOL, I don't think shooting a 90 is a worthy goal for you. You need to shoot the 79 like me to win.

92 from the blues Friday. 85 yesterday in that horrible wind. A six on a par 3, a 3 putt and a 4 putt cost me a 79.

Can I get in on your bet? But mine is to shoot less than 100, I'm not sure I'll ever do that again.

If you keep playing playing places like Bandon Dunes, and Chambers Bay, you'll never break 90. You need to play easy courses that make your scores look good. That's what all the low scorers do. Ask 71.

                    • Double post from the ipad.

But since I have the space, I'll organize a Masters Board Game if more than 2 people want to join me. We'll take suggestions as to the format, and go with the consensus. Come up with something wacky.

This weather has been awful. The front 9 is flooded so I'll only be able to play the back 9 today.

Also I'm in for a Masters game.

                        • I shot a 93 on Saturday, and I'm actually surprised it wasn't worse. Very frustrating round, as I didn't do anything well. Usually when I at least do one thing well (driver, irons, short game, putting) but Saturday I was all over the place. I just couldn't get comfortable over the ball for some reason, and ended up with lots of bogeys and double bogeys.

I think I may try to sneak away today to get a round in--wind be damned--just because I'm so frustrated about how that one played out.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

So I followed through with my plan to play a round yesterday afternoon. It was a better result, score-wise (87) but I don't really feel any better about my game. I'm suddenly fighting a major slice with my driver--something that I've battled in the past but haven't had major issues with for several years. More concerning is that I'm just plain terrible with my irons. The last few rounds I can't seem to hit them flush on a regular basis, and when I do, I can't seem to align myself properly.

I guess I need to go spend an afternoon on the range.

                            • OK.... It's time for the Masters Game.

The scoring system will be the cumulative lowest place finishes of 3 of your 5 picks.

You pick 5 players, and on Sunday afternoon, your lowest three places will determine your final score.

                              For Example: (T2+T4+T6 = a score of 12.), (1+T5+T8 = a score of 14)

Two of your picks must have a world ranking of 25 or higher. Here's a complete list of 2012 Masters Entrants.

You cannot have the exact same team as another picker. If two people have the same top three, the tie goes to the lower position of the 4th and 5th pick.

                              Enjoy.

                              • My Picks:

Phil - He's let me down so many times, but as a left hander, Augusta gives him a 2 shot advantage on the right hand players.
Rory - He's ahead of Tigers pace at the same age. I think he'll be there on the back 9 on Sunday.
Hunter - He won't win, but he'll be in the top 5.
Rickie Fowler (42) - He's playing decent right now, and is as good as anybody in the second 25.
Kyle Stanley (47) - I think he's mentally tough, but I not sure how he's going to react as a first timer.

Tiger will contend on Saturday, but will shoot a 75 on Sunday.
