Congrats OB!! I can't imagine the elation and it's obviously well deserved.
Thanks for the inspiring write up.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
As a follow-up to the sub-20 race, I went out a couple weeks later and came in 2nd overall. Only 180 or so runners, hence the unusual finish. The funny part, though, is that this is the exact same race where last year I also finished 2nd overall. And the same guy came in first both years. It's likely as close as I'll get to winning, and kinda crazy for it to happen exactly the same two years in a row. I didn't even know I was in 2nd until I asked the volunteers at the end how many people came in ahead of me. Oh, and he obliterated me by three and a half minutes. So if anyone wants to medal in a race and challenge for the overall podium, come join me next year in early August.
I have no idea where third place dude went; I promise there were more than two entrants in the race.
Now I'm in the middle of a couple weeks off, no running, barely any exercise at all, and then I'll have to figure out a new goal.
I have this weird knot in my leg. I'd say it's about midway down my calf muscle next to the bone. Feels like maybe the size of a marble and is really hard. If I lift my toes up, it disappears and you can't feel the hard ball anymore. I've had the thing for like a year now and it never seems to go away -- I've tried massaging it (just rubbing on the pressure point) and using the foam roller. Any other ideas?
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

inside or outside part of the leg? is it painful?

"Don't be sorry, it's not your fault. It's my fault for overestimating your competence."
Outside. Not so painful that I've stopped running, but gives me some discomfort running and I can feel it even when I walk. If I push directly on it I feel soreness, but I don't know that painful is the right word. I always just assumed it was a knot in the muscle, but no matter how much I rub it the thing it never releases and it feels usually hard for what I typically think of as a muscle knot. It's not so uncomfortable that it prevents me from activity, just mostly annoys me because it's legitimately been there since last summer, and maybe even a little longer.

Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.
