At the end of last season, I bought a pair of Line Bacons. I just got some bindings and have been trying to decide whether to mount at Eric's recommended line or the factory recommended line. From what I have seen elsewhere, Eric's line gets more recommendations, but I thought I would ask here to see if I could be persuaded otherwise.

Also, I just bought some Jester Pros to put on the skis. Is there any reason I should send them back and get Look Pivots that I found for the same price? The shop guys I've talked to seem to be indifferent.
sweet i have the same ski: the blue bacons?

I went Erics line on the mount and picked up Griffons, not Jesters, but the Jester is a little more torque from what I remember. I didnt want to break my leg if I ate it so i went Griffon.

I dont really know what to tell you on the mount. You cant go wrong on factory mount but the guy who did my bindings told me to go Erics mount so I did. Not sure it matters too much unless you plan on doing a lot of skiing backwards (something I basically dont do much outside of shooting video of the Puffy Check on groomers).

I have the Jester on my Gotamas. Although I don't weigh 900 lbs I do like them. No problems with premature release.

Yeah, the blue bacons from 13/14 (maybe 12/13? I think they may have the same paint job).

I probably could have/should have gone with the Griffons, but I found a very good deal on the Jester Pros and just went with them. With my height and weight, I'll still be at the low end of the spring.

I think I'll likely stick with Eric's line. I don't ski much backwards except for on groomers with my kids. I wouldn't mind learning to do more backwards, but I think I'm too old.

            • First day up today. Not much cover and not much open. Glad I brought my rock skis.

              • Went to Brighton yesterday with two of my boys and brother. It could have been a pretty good day without the wind, but due to the high winds, only Explorer and Majestic were open. We took one run on each and called it a day. Despite it not being a very good day, I was very proud of my four-year old who made it down the hill with the tough winds.

Solitude was closed yesterday due to wind. They only opened chickadee at snowbird. Winds up to 100 mph reported at the top of the tram.

I've been up earlier this week. Everything but Road to Provo and baby thunder are open at snowbird. Still some uncovered areas but the recent storm left some fresh stuff off the cirque and little cloud. Probably all tracked out now. I'll be up this weekend.

Is it wet or dry stuff?

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

                          Pretty dry. Not too heavy.

The base is pretty thin at this point. All the fresh stuff has been skied out or is really set up. Anything off-trail is going to be hard and bumpy. I wonder if he got into something unpredictable.

I wear a helmet. At first I thought they would be bothersome but haven't found that to be the case.

                              • I mostly wear a helmet. They are much warmer than a beanie and I have speakers in my Ear pads so I don't have to worry about bringing headphones along. If I'm skiing in April it is usually too hot for a helmet though. My kids have to wear helmets.
