do you work at a ski resort? which one? What do you do there? that sounds fun.

I think I am taking daughter #2 to Brighton Ski School tomorrow. Supposed to be warm and sunny. Perfect day for skiing after it snows off and on all day today.

I meant work, like you meant work from home. Meaning I would be skiing and ski biking in fresh powder.

My work part is running the campground and resort side of the business.

I might take our youngest tomorrow, if I can swing taking two Friday's in a row off.

              • Great day today. 24" over the last 2 days. Road to Provo and Mineral Basin didn't open until today. I've never waited at a gate and caught fresh tracks until today when RTP opened at 1:00. Knee-deep powder . I'm feeling it now.

                • Lucky. I was called to a 230 meeting tomorrow afternoon so now I can't go until Saturday. Lame. Why do people schedule Friday meetings, especially Friday afternoon meetings?

How was the weather? It was up and down in SLC....cloudy, sunny, some light flurries. I guess it is supposed to snow again tomorrow a bit.

Clouds most of the day with the sun breaking through every now and then. Cold and windy with flurries throughout the day with limited visibility higher up but well worth it.

I finished at 2:30. Even after taking a break for lunch I was spent by then. You could easily get in a half-day and then make everyone jealous by showing up to the meeting with raccoon-eyes.

                        • The only two bad things about today are that I had to leave early to get home for Jr's bball practice tonight and that I probably aggravated my back that was just starting to feel better.

I should have stayed for night skiing, I love night skiing.

                              • I am 2/3 into Operation:Puffy Check Ski Conversion (admittedly not a good name). Today was a success. Took Daughter 2 and thought the day was going to be a disaster. About 45 minutes into the class I get a call from Brighton Ski School telling me that she checked out completely and didn't want to do it. I made my way over to the ski school and found her there at the table coloring and drinking hot chocolate. When I asked why she had bugged out, she started crying and said, 'I fell." I asked her if she assumed she was going to be really good her first time and never fall. She said, "Yes." () I guess in all my exuberance and preparation, I failed to tell her that falling is pretty normal, especially on your very first day ever. She asked if she would get better and I said that she probably would. Then she went back out to the class. So besides w.a.s.t.ing about 35 minutes of the lesson, the overall final result was great. She had a fun time and wanted to stay and ski all afternoon. We stayed until 4 and then headed home. After about 10 minutes in the car, she zonked out for the rest of the car ride.

One unfortunate effect of her missing a chunk of the class...she missed the part when they learn how to turn. So i was trying all sorts of things to try to explain to her how to turn. In the end, pretending to be an airplane seemed to be the best thing.

The weather was insane. It felt about mid 50s on the hill. By 2, we both were skiing in t-shirts and we ditched our gloves entirely. Even then it was really warm. The snow wasn't great, but it was still a fun time. Glad I went.

Also, Aquaphor was there giving away free tubes of lip balm. Free! so sorry that none of you were given a free tube of lip balm today
