Nice mower, but I don't think you should be letting Junior wear his politically conservative viewpoints on his sleeve (or chest, as it were). At least not in the Eug.

I don't think MJ has ever used a trimmer, which is good since mowing the lawn is a mans job.
On that note, I haven't mowed my lawn at all this summer. It's nice to have a 12 year old son."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. I have been doing a lot of online reading since you posted this. I generally put sta-bil in my gas can. I found a hole in the wall place that sells ethanol-free gas. However, I wonder if it better to buy regular gas from a good gas station with fresh gas and continue to use sta-bil or use the ethanol-free gas but that may be several months old already? What do you think? I have also wondered the same thing about the pre-mixed stuff you can buy at hardware store, how long has that been sitting there? So at what point or age is ethanol-free gas worse than fresh gas with ethanol?Originally posted by wally View PostRegardless of which brand you get, one thing that you can do to keep your small engine running well is to find a place to get gasoline without ethanol."Friendship is the grand fundamental principle of Mormonism" - Joseph Smith Jr.

I got this information from a bunch of mechanics I work with. They tell me that the alcohol is hard on hoses and leaves build up in areas that can cause problems. I don't know much about Sta-bil. The guys use a stabilizer for winter storage, I will have to ask them about the ethanol neutralizing version.Originally posted by Sullyute View PostI have been doing a lot of online reading since you posted this. Up to 10%. Small engines are notoriously finicky. Ethanol, or the absence thereof, can be the difference between your mower starting first pull every time and having to flush the hoses every week when you get ready to mow.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostWhy would it matter much? Standard automotive gas contains ethanol and it flows through hoses. Whats the problem? I actually went and talked to the owner of the station that sells non-ethanol fuel locally. He has been going thru the non-ethanol gas like crazy and has opened up another pump for non-ethanol gas because of all the demand. So my worry about stale ethanol-free gas has been abated. I have been using non-ethanol gas since the spring.Originally posted by wally View PostI got this information from a bunch of mechanics I work with. Hmmm. Maybe I'll fill up the gas cans at the ethanol-free station next time so I don't start dreaming about a new mower.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostUp to 10%. Thinking of getting a new battery-powered mower. My main considerations are cost, reliability, and longevity. Don't need self-propelled.
Who has experience with them? What should I be thinking about? Any advice either for or against particular manufacturers and/or models?"I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"
