Hey, he has a scheduled message this Friday. Maybe the abolishment of the HC is what this troubled world needs right now!

I've never understood what the value in having a campus based police force. What does it offer that local law enforcement can't?

Spy on people for the honor code office. Pay attention.

Almost every university has their own police force. Hell, even Westminster has one.

The root doesn't stop at the BYU police or the BYU HCO. The HCO doesn't operate in a vacuum and neither does the BYU police department. I haven't read where the BYU administration has condemned the acts of the officer or its honor code office. I have read, though, where the BYU administration tried to cover this whole thing up. That's your root cause.

Yeah. It’s funny to me that people picture the HCO as some sort of renegade entity that BYU Admin can’t rein in. Or that BYU has that sort of relationship with the church.

I think funding is a prime consideration especially for small towns hosting a large university.

                          Oh boy.

This thread has more bad takes than any other thread on this fair website. And it's not even close.

Well, there it is. The judge dismisses the desertification of BYU's police department. Very happy for my Alma Mater to win, but I just hope they've learned what they needed to going forward.
