Well, you know contract negotiations can go. Sort of like when KWhitt was leaving the U to be DC at BYU. You just have to wait until the ink is dry to report it.

Sorry dudes. Look at the present composition of the 12. By the time another vacancy rolls around (after the LTP and BKP ones are filled) the legacy candidates like Packer Jr., etc., won't have the connections to get the "go-ahead." You can bet your bottom dollar too, that some of the first generation 12-ers "the new guard", like Bednar and Uchdorf won't give a shit "who somebody's grandaddy was", all they will care about is if the candidate is able to kick some ass for the Lord.

Yeah, but he didn't hit the Q70 sweet spot age of 50. He might have name cred, but he's sort of past his prime.

Put me on record that the next Packer apostle will be Kenneth!

He's a very good man. I worked with him in one of his calllings back in the day.

I can't imagine how awful it would be to be a mission president next year. So glad I'm on the slow track and born into the wrong family.

I believe Elder Robert C. Gay would be the clear choice for one of the spots. How better to show we aren't homophobic than by putting a Gay man in the quorum of the twelve.

He spoke at BYU-I graduation and really game a great talk, I was impressed with him.
He also spoke at my graduation from the MSM.

I'm pulling for Bishop Causse to be one of the new ones called, I think he would be fantastic. I also think Gifford Nielsen would make an excellent choice.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I'm not pulling for Giff. He's a great guy and all but he's definitely a hard liner...at least those that work directly with him describe him as such. It would be cool to have another BYU football fan in the quorum though.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Jorg Klebingat, the mini-Uchtdorf. He's only 47 years old.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Really? That's interesting. He seemed so dynamic when he spoke in GC. That's my measuring stick for guys I don't know much about...did they keep my attention or not.
