I have it on good authority that Monson will NOT be speaking.

So what is the wager? I don't want your money. I'll accept your bet, my side is that if Monson speaks you attend all three hours of church for 6 consecutive weeks and return and post something positive or uplifting in a non-cynical way that you got out of the meeting. What is your end of the wager?

If you lose you have to NOT go to church for six weeks and say something positive about inactivity!

$100 is always a good round number bet. If he even just blesses the membership he is speaking. If he uses sign language, you win.

I am not welcome at Church: Dallin Oaks blocked me on Twitter for quoting him.

In this context, it's important to note that he could have just MUTED me. Muting would make it so he didn't have to read my quips. Instead, he BLOCKED me, which prevents me from reading HIS content. I find the psychology of apostles blocking good Mormons like myself to be quite interesting. He doesn't want me to read what he has to say because he knows he is full of it and afraid of my response.

By the same token, imagine a world where apostles could BLOCK people from hearing their conference talks. Why would an apostle do this? It makes no sense, unless they are afraid of dissidents. In other words, they feel weak and are showing it.

I predict future SLTrib articles on apostles' poor Twitter etiquette.

Good point. Definitely not welcome at church. You'll have to come up with another wager.

I'll pay if he speaks. He might speak. We will see.

But I want a discount if he says something crazy.

You're cracking me up. Sounds good. But it has to be legitimately crazy. Cardiac can be the judge. $75 if so.

You got blocked Sooner? I checked out Oaks last tweet and William Law, Emma Smith, and General Joseph Smith were commenting a lot. What do you have to say to get blocked?

All I did was quote him saying that the word "apologize" is not in LDS scriptures and therefore the Church does not ever apologize.

I knew I should have expanded my prediction to the top 15 instead of narrowing it down to the 12 apostles.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
