Travelers almost doubled the premium for earthquake insurance on my home this year. I'm paying $129 now instead of $73. Is that $129 a year? If so, it's very affordable. Earthquake premiums in Utah can easily go over $1000 a year.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostTravelers almost doubled the premium for earthquake insurance on my home this year. If, on the other hand, it's $129 a month then that seems more like what one would expect to pay.

Why spend money on earthquake insurance when you can just earthquake proof your home?

Why spend money on earthquake insurance or earthquake proofing one's home when one can buy a tent?Originally posted by Dwight Schr-ute View PostWhy spend money on earthquake insurance when you can just earthquake proof your home?

I'm pretty sure Do-Terra sells something that works for earthquake-proofing.Originally posted by Dwight Schr-ute View PostWhy spend money on earthquake insurance when you can just earthquake proof your home?"More crazy people to Provo go than to any other town in the state."

Not sure I get the ridicule on this one. I would assume that they aren't talking about a seismic retrofit, but do-able stuff like securing your water heater, etc. Nothing wrong with that.Originally posted by Dwight Schr-ute View PostWhy spend money on earthquake insurance when you can just earthquake proof your home?

That's per yer. My agent told me I'm the only customer she has with it. After Hurricane Katrina, I have EVERY kind of coverage available on my home. In fact, when I bought my house, I was told it wasn't a flood zone. Screw that, I got flood insurance anyway. In August of 2011, we got 4 1/2 inches of rain in 90 minutes. Our neighborhood flooded, with water a foot deep in places. My shed had 6-7 inches inside it (not that, sickos), my laundry room, which is off my carport, got an inch. After that, the Army Corps declared our area a flood zone. But, because I had already bought a policy when it wasn't required, I'm grandfathered in at the A premium rate, so my premium is about $400 a year instead of $1000. Even better, the policy can stay with the home if I sell it, so if someone keeps it, they're grandfathered in at the lower rate.Originally posted by BigFatMeanie View PostIs that $129 a year? As for earthquake insurance, I felt that Virginia quake a few years ago, and Charleston was leveled by a quake in the 1800's. My policy has a 15% deductible and doesn't cover damage to the brick veneer. But, it's still worth it, as an earthquake on this sandy soil will probably lead to liquefaction.
Well this was the 2nd reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, so the Traveler came as a large and moving Lamashtu. There must have been a Do-Terra convention in SLC yesterday as about half the audience erupted when Lloyd asked if anyone was there from Do-Terra. Ruined the spirit of the whole broadcast.Originally posted by Solon View PostI'm pretty sure Do-Terra sells something that works for earthquake-proofing.
Not really. Rick Elliott's first chord on Gently Raise was a powerful cleanser. But it was harder to breathe during the broadcast.“Every player dreams of being a Yankee, and if they don’t it’s because they never got the chance.” Aroldis Chapman
