I said "rose and bradley." Dave Rose and Shawn Bradley combined are 13-6 against Utah.

So like Phil Collins: No Jacket Required.

MJ is going to see this tonight. I'll return and report her review, but I can already tell you that she loved it and will buy advanced dvd copies for her family for Xmas/birthday presents.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Verdict is that the movie was great and very well done. MJ even cried once or twice.

The theatre was very empty, maybe 1/5 full at best.

Thanks for the review. Sounds like MOmentum is building.

Sounds like there's 4/5ths room for investigators!
Oh wait, this isn't a proselytizing effort.

Can you ask if there were any local mormon celebrities on hand? Doesn't Ty Detmer live in Houston?

Would be a very nice gesture if the Academy agreed to move the Oscars to Saturday in order to accomMOdate all the LDS celebs that will be attending as MTM attempts to sweep through several categories.

The critics don't count - they hate all religious movies.

Case in point, we're only 2% behind the critics' rankings of the MOst recent Nic Cage joint, "Left Behind": http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/left_behind_2014/

I think this critic comment sums it up nicely:

Would you go out of your way to see an infomercial that was more than an hour long? Would you even pay for the privilege? That's what "Meet the Mormons" would have filmgoers do.

I know several people who work for the church. Very good people. I want to say that upfront so the following comment is a reflection on the system, not the people in it.

I think the church is like a government beaurocracy. There are no profit/loss considerations. There is plenty of money available. Someone comes up with a interesting idea and it gets reviewed by people who are "fully invested". Of course in their minds all the members would love to see this and there are many people who would like to find out why they are fully invested. No one says, this isn't reality.

Have we heard any reports yet? Is it not "working"?

Is the church wishing they wouldn't have done it?
