I thought he just had dementia? Doesn't that mean he still had times where he is lucid? My dad who has dementia and Charles Bennet disease being studied at the U still has moments of lucidity. Or are you going in deeper than your previous post saying Monson has no cognitive ability left? Or are you just a broken record that hasn't gotten any attention lately?

I dislike their misuse of apostasy when they mean heresy.
A practice is holding FHE on Monday, regularly attending the temple, home teaching, and bringing a salad to the ward party if your last name starts with M-Z. Opposing church practices was not included in the definition of apostacy:

Apostasy is repeatedly acting in clear, open, and deliberate public opposition to the Church or its faithful leaders, or persisting, after receiving counsel, in teaching false doctrine.
Honestly, friend, you are looking for fault. The church is good, the basic doctrines of salvation sound, and the leaders imperfect. You know it can make you a better person through the atonement of Christ, but that is only possible if it is possible to let go of the resentment currently boiling in your heart. Give me a call some time if you want to talk.

Well, Holland called the "Curse of Cain" mythology "folklore" in 2006 in a PBS interview and I recall Hinckley doing the same while he was alive. I guess when church leaders say stuff in interviews that may not be considered counsel directed at BYU religion professors that had a blog named "Know Your Religion".

The First Presidency meets every week. Then they meet with the Twelve. The FP+12 Meeting is called the "Council of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve." Most things that need the approval of the First Presidency (new bishops, etc.) get discussed and approved in this meeting. New policies get decided here too.

Notably, it does not include any women.

So I'm curious as to why they put out this statement. It doesn't say anything that hasn't already been said in the past two weeks by the PR department. Are they focusing on the criticism that they (meaning the 15) are hiding behind the PR department. This has been expressed in many ways by many different people. It's the only thing I can think of.

Laughably, a bunch of people are tossing this up on facebook as though they expect it to be a final word rebuttal against the people that are agitating. I highly doubt that will be the case.

Man the church gets harder and harder to like. It functions a lot more like a political organization than an instrument of god.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

                              Dear President Packer,

When you set me apart for this special internet mission, you said in part... "the internet was invented for man to step up and identify himself before God." At first, I didn't fully understand what that meant, but now I'm beginning to see. As we gather information on the internet we sift through what we like, and don't like, and store the nuggets in our hearts, only to be revealed years later in little comments that define who we are. I can see that the thoughts of ones mind reflects the disposition of one's heart. If you see Jesus in one of your "FP/Q12 council meetings" tell him "well played."

                              Your Servant,

                              Elder clackamascoug
