Nope. she's not allowed to talk to them. she's far too much of a threat.

Participants in Strangers In Zion will prepare and send letters requesting a Church disciplinary council to their local leadership. They will create profiles on the Strangers in Zion website where they can provide updates on the status of their disciplinary hearings. If these requests are not honored, it is our firm position that the other pending disciplinary hearings should be canceled. Likewise, if these requests result in Church discipline, it further demonstrates that the Church is not the diverse, inclusive religious community that it pretends to be.
Sounds like a good website for attention seeking whores that can't generate any sort of following by any other way. Seriously, Dehlin and Kelly would never stoop to this level. I also don't understand why these people would seek to waste their local leader's time....because apparently their bishop couldn't care less about their beliefs even if they are being vocal because apparently no one is listening.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I just can't conclude anything else given the little info I have about the situation.

*further, I don't believe the Church is prone to punish people for having personal doctrinal struggles. At all. But you have to admit this was not personal- she picked up the rifle for a cause that she perceived to be greater than herself. If she has become a martyr and if the media has picked up steam, that's her doing. I mean- she started a website, a formal organization, picketed general conference, did interviews, apparently authored or at least commissioned and published a brief/critique of her disciplinary council, etc.

If she is a believer, then yes- it sucks to be her. She's not getting satisfaction on her personal query, and she has to promise to drop the crusade if she wants back in. But she has to also know that crusades have never been the way anything has changed in the Church, and was probably told in no uncertain terms to drop the crusade months ago. This is why the apparent lack of sympathy coming from me if my posts are coming across as harsh, judgmental, or hurtful.
That's not been my personal experience.

It's even narrower than that. Her audience is the bishop and two counselors who will hear her appeal to be reinstated, presuming she chooses that path in a year.

              • I was watching media day most of the time last night and only caught portions of the national breaking news alerts.

Did this excommunication happen late last night? Do you suspect that is why it wasn't caught by the national media? Surely the church officials realize the national media can pick up on it today and they are only delayng the national outcry.

I guess it shouldn't be too surprising that you don't know how to use google.

Some of your cracks about my low I.Q. are justified. That one however is not. I often use google to look up the big words you use.

LOL, I don't think it is demonized anymore after solid science proved it doesn't cause blindness.

What has science revealed regarding hairy palms? As one of the lead researchers, I wonder what Sooner Coug has discovered.

That one must have come along after my youth. I never remember being warned about hairy palms. Just blindness and I guess since I was a pretty good baseball player, one Bishop mentioned such activity could cause elbow trouble in my throwing arm.
