No you guys always make these debates about me, and today is the proof of it.Originally posted by creekster View PostI have been reading your posts on various boards for over a decade. Honestly, at a fundamental level, when are you NOT talking about yourself?
I'm glad JL has finally been taking the brass knucks to you, you bully. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Did you graduate from seminary?Originally posted by YOhio View PostI've always thought of it as Christ's church, but maybe that's just me.
1 Cor 12:27
Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

When you strip away the bedrock, you are also left with shaky foundation, which, as you pointed out, describes SeattleUte pretty well.Originally posted by Non Sequitur View PostSay what you want about SU, but when you strip away the hyperbolic bedrock, you're usually left with a few nuggets of glaring truth.Fitter. CJ: I'm glad you're at least self-aware enough to know what an asshole you are. On the other hand, I wonder if you realize what that really means. Here, I'll tell you: you're eternally worse off than an atheist who isn't an asshole.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostI can only imagine how strong the spirit will be at your sons baptism on Saturday.
Wuap: in all sincerity, I hope you feel the strong warmth of the Spirit at your son's baptism on Saturday. I'll never forget my baptism when I was 8. It's an experience with the Spirit that still sustains me today. Your son's baptism is so much bigger than the church. He's deciding to follow Christ. That is so wonderful, and a sacred thing. Forget the travails of the church and focus on the only fact that matters at the end of any day --- the reality of Christ and what he is and means. Your son's baptism is a powerful act of faith in that reality. He'll feel the Spirit; I hope you do too.

The debate continues.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

Especially since you won't be there!Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostI can only imagine how strong the spirit will be at your sons baptism on Saturday."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

I am not sure if I can concede there is always truth at the core of the messages, but I will concede they are full of nuggets. When my 2 year old goes without pants during potty training I sometimes find nuggets around the house, so I recognize nuggets when I see them.Originally posted by creekster View PostIOW when you get rid of that which isn't truth, what is left, usually, is truth?
