It's kind of a stretch to include Win Butler in this group but this will hurt his band Arcade Fire.

    • Colby Ryan Lori Vallows son is in trouble. Don’t know if victim is soon to be ex wife or not. I bought his book God over there odds. Don’t know if book two will be published or not. Watched his YouTube channel. Will watch doc sins of mother out of curiosity.

Hated Mtc crowded didn’t finish mission depression I guess, now talks about leaving church. Unless he had membership withdrawn or resigned name still on records though. Didn’t grow up in good circumstances now he may spend some time behind bars.

How did I not know Butler was raised Mormon? Mormonism's influence on the music of the 2000s is kind of striking.

Butler, Brandon Flowers, Dan Reynolds, three big bands with an LDS raised lead.

I always want Band of Horses to have LDS ties, but I don't think they do.

                Utah Saints

The group says that there was nothing too deep in the choosing of their name. The idea of using the word “Utah” came to the group when watching the film “Raising Arizona.” They heard it in the last line and thought that the word was a “quite a satisfying word and it’s underused.”

In looking for a name, Garbutt and Willis were looking for something that was not used before and didn’t come along with any preconceived notions of what a band with the name would be like. They also wanted something that would look good on a T-shirt and stage backdrop, and “Utah Saints” fit the bill on all accounts.

                • I wonder what the list would look like if it included all band members. I know Panic at the Disco/IDKHow (same guy I think). I remember hearing once that the original bassist for Jimmy Eat World was Mormon and that he decided to serve a mission right before they hit big. I'm guessing that was a rough couple years.

I'll bet the mission gave him the perspective to understand that everything everything would be just fine.

And then he came home and sold security systems door-to-door.

Not a bad gig. It just takes some time
