Things that make you go hmmm:

After that he wants to add extra features like a multiplayer mode and a family-friendly version. (Right now, AI Dungeon works just fine as a fantasy porn role-playing game. Do with that information what you will.)

We've got some strange stuff going on in town. One spouse dies, he gets remarriage a couple of weeks later, kids are missing, it's a bad deal. I think he's a publisher of LDS books, the crazy kind.

I swear I had a seminary teacher with that name, but I can't seem to see any connection to him and Heber City in the 90's..

            Holy crap.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

            • I started this thread in the Water Cooler. Guy had some weird ideas. And special needs kids, not in good situation.

                • Interesting story about everyone's favorite church member, Rudy Ruettiger. This story is more about football and his movie, but I found this parenthetical most interesting:

(By the way, Rudy is Mormon now. Well, he still identifies as Catholic, but he has been baptized in the churches of at least three different denominations, attends services at a fourth and his children attended the school of a fifth. "When St. Peter comes calling, I've got my bases covered, Coach.")
I thought this was funny, too:

He's best described as likably abrasive. Every day and every conversation is a relentless series of motivational stories, punctuated by F-bombs and simplified explanations for missteps.

Someone told me this past weekend that the wife died on a Saturday, they buried her in Utah on Tuesday, they had a little service for her up here on Wednesday and he was introducing his new girl friend Saturday. What an idiot.

                    • I listened to a Julia Rowe podcast and someone that puts them up go on about how the media sensationalizes it, we need to quit judging them, they would never do that and on and on. Will Rowe and her followers ever think he did anything wrong?

A few commentators said he was not excommunicated served in bishopric or exec sec at time of wife’s death. He may have been exed. Many red flags there.

Like kook that was in our ward that sought to teach and had great ideas or so he thought and a few unwise people unfortunately followed him.

Seriously? The church spokesman confirmed that he was exed.

Yeah the people defending him in comments aren’t grounded in reality — they’re just making stuff up if it sounds good.

                          • One of the most confusing things about the current political and religious landscape is how progressives seem so ruthless about being critical towards the church for not excommunicating someone or demanding that someone suspected of a crime should be excommunicated. Same concept with cancel culture, I guess. Progressive/liberal ideology always seemed to me to be associated with leniency/grace/permissiveness/tolerance and conservative ideology seemed to be associated with justice and harsh punishments. It's so confusing when I see liberals out for blood.

                            • I have been observing the flip as well. The only thing I still see where conservatives can get harsh are pregnant unmarried women.

                              • A woman in Oregon in suing the church due to the church’s response to her husband’s confidential confession of child abuse. And it’s totally not the reason you suspect. What horrible people.
